† BAPTISM  We rejoice with Ace Jason Michael F. at his baptism this morning.  Ace was born July 6, 2007, and is the son of  Jim F. and Amy H.  Ace’s sponsors are Karen P. and Dr. Joshua and Camie P.  We ask God to bless this family always with His love and grace.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN will be sharing songs of Jesus’ love that they have been working on during opening at Sunday School today at the beginning of the 10:45 am service.

† SINGING SAINTS  GSLC will be hosting the Singing Saints from Saint Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, Missouri, on Palm Sunday, March 25.  The choir of about 50 students will perform at 7:00 pm that evening.  As the host church, we will need to provide housing for the students and chaperones for that night.  We are still in need of several more volunteers to host students.  If you would be able to provide a place for two or more of the members of the choir please contact the church office, 358-1325.

† SINGING SAINTS DINNER  GSLC Fellowship Committee will be providing a dinner for the Singing Saints and our congregation on March 25 at 5:00 pm.  If you will   be attending the dinner, please use the sign-up sheet on the round table in the Narthex so that the Fellowship Committee will know how much food to provide. Also, we ask those joining us to bring a dessert to share for our famous dessert bar.  Please, come and join us for dinner, fellowship and a wonderful performance by the choir.

† MEAL DELIVERY  Good Shepherd’s week to deliver meals for the Over-60 Center starts this Monday, March 5.  If you can help with this worthwhile project, please contact Betty E.

† EASTER EGG HUNT  The LYF will be filling the plastic eggs for the annual Sunday School Easter Egg hunt.  They are asking the congregation for donations of rolls of nickels/dimes, small prizes, or bags of individually wrapped candy.  Your donations can be placed in the container provided in the youth room or they can be dropped off in the church office.  Thanks for your help with this project!

† EASTER LILIES  If you would like to purchase one or more lilies to help adorn our sanctuary on Easter, please use the sign up sheet in the narthex.  The cost is $8.00 each.  Please pay Diana E.

† LENT began February 14, with our Ash Wednesday services.  We will once again have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm throughout Lent.  Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† SHOE COLLECTION  Donya M. has asked for help with a community project.  She is collecting shoes, any size or style, that have some life left.  There is a   container in the narthex for the shoes to be collected.  Thanks for your help.

† GSLC FRIENDS BIBLE STUDY meets Monday evenings at 6:30 pm at the home of Karen Perkins.  Kids are welcome and they participate in their own Bible time as well.  If you have questions you can contact K.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING  The offering from both Adult Bible Class and       Sunday School for the months of January and February, which totaled just over $300.00, is going to LCMS World Relief to help those affected by the Hurricane in Houston.

NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions

† MOMS GROUP PLANNING GET-TOGETHER  Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Christian Education Committee has heard some interest in some type of Mom’s Mentoring Group being formed at our church.  In an effort to figure out what kind of group would be of interest and what would work best for everyone as far as timing, the Christian Education Committee will be hosting an evening for Moms!  This get-together has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, in the GSLC Fellowship Hall, at 6:00 pm.  Dinner and dessert will be provided and childcare will be available if you need it.  We hope by bringing everyone together a decision can be made on when, where, and what kind of group would be of interest to the moms in our congregation.

† BAKE SALE  Thanks to everyone who supported the bake sale last Sunday, either by making goodies, buying goodies, or both!  It was a big success, bringing in a total of $547.00.  How wonderful!

† SHEPHERD’S OWN has resumed rehearsals on Wednesday evenings.  During Lent they will meet at 6:00 pm.  All who enjoy singing men’s four-part harmony are welcome to join the fun!

† “SOUPER” BOWL SUNDAY  A big thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s Souper Bowl Sunday drive to help fill the shelves of Crosslines of Carthage.  A total of 200 lbs. of food was donated along with $481.00.  That’s awesome!

10 biblical ways to love

1. Listen without interrupting. “To answer before listening, that is folly and shame” (Proverbs 18:13).
2. Speak without accusing. “Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry” (James 1:19).
3. Give without selfishness. “The righteous give without sparing” (Proverbs 21:26).
4. Pray without ceasing. “We have not stopped praying for you” (Colossians 1:9).
5. Answer without arguing. “Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife” (Proverbs 17:1).
6. Share without pretending. “Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of … Christ” (Ephesians 4:15).
7. Enjoy without complaining. “Do everything without grumbling or arguing” (Philippians 2:14).
8. Trust without wavering. “[Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” . (1 Corinthians 13:7).
9. Forgive without punishing. “Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13).
10. Promise without forgetting. “A longing fulfilled is a tree of life” (Proverbs 13:12).
