Along with our regular Sunday morning Bible Class, Good Shepherd has a few other opportunities for Bible study. Pastor Mehl leads a study on Thursday mornings from 10 am to 11 am the church Fellowship Hall. There is a morning men’s Bible study that meets Tuesday mornings at 6:30 am. They currently meet at Sami’s restaurant in Joplin. There is also a Monday evening home study group that meets at Karen Perkin’s house at 6:30 pm. We would like to encourage people to get involved in one or more of these studies. It’s a great way to get connected to others in our church family while also learning about God’s word.
The Board of Christian Education wondered if there would be an interest in any other Bible study groups. What about a couples’ Bible study, a young adult group, a men’s morning Bible study in Carthage, etc. If you would be interested in any of these please contact the church office 358-1325. It would be nice to get some new Bible study opportunities going at Good Shepherd to add to what is already being offered!
Stephen Ministry is a way our congregation trains and mobilizes members to provide Christ-centered care and support to people experiencing many different kinds of life difficulties, including grief, divorce, cancer, unemployment, spiritual crisis, and other challenges.
