Rally Day, the day the Sunday School children celebrate the beginning of a new Sunday school year.  Some will change rooms, while others might stay in the same room one more year, but all will have new “classmates”.  It’s a fun day, an exciting day.
 
There are big plans for this year.  It’s a Rally Day Round-up with a Chuck Wagon Lunch.  We want everyone to take part in this year’s event.  It’s promising to be a rootin’-tootin’ cowboy/girl good time.  So kids, parents, and all you Good Shepherd cowpokes, dress in your western attire and join the fun.

Lunch will be served after the second service chuck wagon style with chili and ham/beans.  Just rustle up a side dish or a dessert, bring it with you and join us for some cowpoke grub. 

After lunch is when the real fun begins.  There will be horse and buggy rides, train rides, an inflatable bounce room, a snow-cone vendor, and games.  Of course it wouldn’t be Rally Day without the always exciting, and beautiful balloon launch. 

So, pardners, corral your youngins’, and mosey on down to the fellowship hall for the Rally Day Round-up and Chuck Wagon lunch.

We finished our study of 2 Peter today. Next week we will start on the Gospel of Mathew. This would be a great time to join us.

The topic of getting more involvement in bible studies was brought up.  Please feel free to come and share any thoughts or ideas you may have.

Kids will feel the sea spray on their face as sails snap overhead. They’ll experience the deep rolling waters of God’s love. It’s easily the best time they will have all summer. Don’t miss the ship—register now to be a part of this High Seas Expedition VBS! VBS is set for July 11-16^th.  We will be doing registrations on July 11^th from 6:30-8:00.  Refreshments will be served and the kids will get assigned into their “crews”.  VBS will be held from 5:30-8:00pm Monday-Friday with a light dinner from 5:30-6:00.  We already have the t-shirts so please let us know as soon as possible if your child is attending so we are sure to have the enough shirts for everyone. Any questions please contact Nicole B. or Shelly W.

“The Truth Project” is a dynamic look at what the Bible tells us (which is the truth) compared to the world’s view (which is often a lie).  It is a twelve week program which will include a DVD lesson and discussion.  There is no cost.  The program was developed by Focus on the Family and you can find information, DVD clips and more on the website: thetruthproject.org.  This study is open to everyone.  Invite friends and co-workers to join us.  We meet each Tuesday, at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall.  You may contact Lora S., for more information.  Sign up sheet in the narthex.
