LWML BAKE SALE Bring your sweet tooth with you to church next Sunday as you will want to take advantage of the baked goodies, made by the ladies of the LWML, that will be available for sale. All donations will go toward sending our delegates, Diana E. and Brenda K., to the District LWML Convention in June. As always, your donations are greatly appreciated!

EASTER BREAKFAST SIGN UP On the round table in the narthex is a sign up sheet for food and items needed for the annual congregational breakfast, which will be served Easter morning at 8:30. What can you bring?

EASTER LILIES If you would like to purchase an Easter Lily to help adorn the sanctuary for Easter Sunday, please sign the sheet on the round table in the narthex. The cost is $8.00 each and you will need to make payment to Diana E.

LENTEN THEME WORD During Lent there will be a theme word each Sunday that describes what Jesus accomplished by dying on the cross for us. These words are Restored, Justified, Reconciled, Fulfilled, Loved, and Forgiven. On Easter the word will be Risen.

LENTEN MIDWEEK SERVICES, 11:00 AM & 7:00 PM A part of the passion story will be read each midweek service. If you want to bring your lunch to the early service, you are most welcome to eat in the fellowship hall after the service.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR LENT As part of Lent this year, we are collecting school supplies for Lora Samuelson to take with her on her mission trip to Haiti. She will be leaving April 30. Lora will take the items to the children in the orphanage she visits. Each Sunday we will ask for a particular item that is needed. Next Sunday please bring blunt nose scissors. There is a collection box on the round table in the narthex.

MARRIAGE RETREAT Plans are being made for a marriage retreat on May 11-12. If you have an interest in attending, please write your name and phone number on the specified sheet in the narthex. More information will be in the April Shepherd’s Staff. You may also visit with Darren or Kara G., who are heading up the retreat.

SOFTBALL SIGNUPS If you are interested in playing on the church men’s softball team or the co-ed team, please sign your name on the sheet in the narthex. The co-ed team will play on Monday evenings and the men’s team will play on Thursday evenings, both at the Carthage Municipal Park. Play begins the second week of April.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the narthex after each service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.

CD’S AND TAPES OF THE SERVICE Audio tapes and CD’s of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

THE CONFIRMATION CLASS will be heading to the MO District Jr. High Youth Retreat at Camp Windermere, Roach, MO, on Friday of this week. They will return on Sunday afternoon. Please keep these young folks and their sponsors in your prayers

LENTEN CHALLENGE We have a supply of Shoe Box Scripture Treasures which contains a memory verse for each week of the year. The Lenten challenge is for you to take one home and memorize a Bible passage each week for the next year. They’re available on the round table in the narthex.

LWML MISSION PROJECT The LWML has taken on a project to hold a Bible study with residents at Maple Tree Terrace, 2510 Clinton, Carthage. The study, being led by Nan Borg, will be from 3:00-3:30 pm on March 15. Everyone is welcome to join us as we reach out in our community to bring the good news of Jesus’ love.

MARTIN LUTHER DISPLAY Today Molly S. is sharing with us her National History Day project on Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. It is on display in the narthex and Molly is here to answer any questions you might have.

LWML MEETING Our regular meeting will be this Wednesday, March 7, at 6:00 pm.  Lora W. will have the opening and Diana B. will be our hostess. All ladies of the congregation are invited to attend.
