LENTEN THEME WORD During Lent there will be a theme word each Sunday that describes what Jesus accomplished by dying on the cross for us. These words are Restored, Justified, Reconciled, Fulfilled, Loved, and Forgiven. On Easter the word will be Risen.
LENTEN MIDWEEK SERVICES, 11:00 AM & 7:00 PM A part of the passion story will be read each midweek service. If you want to bring your lunch to the early service, you are most welcome to eat in the fellowship hall after the service.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR LENT As part of Lent this year, we will be collecting school supplies for Lora S. to take with her on her mission trip to Haiti. They will be given to the children in the orphanage she visits. Each Sunday we will ask for a particular item that is needed. Next Sunday please bring ball point pens, black or blue. There is a collection box on the round table in the narthex.
LENTEN CHALLENGE We have a supply of Shoe Box Scripture Treasures which contains a memory verse for each week of the year. The Lenten challenge is for you to take one home and memorize a Bible passage each week for the next year. They’re available on the round table in the narthex.
LWML MISSION PROJECT The LWML has taken on a project to hold a Bible study with residents at Maple Tree Terrace, 2510 Clinton, Carthage, on Thursday, March 1 and March 15. The study, being led by Nan B., will be from 3:00-4:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to join us as we reach out in our community to bring the good news of Jesus’ love.
CONFIRMATION RETREAT The Confirmation class will be going to a retreat at Camp Windermere, sponsored by the MO District. The dates are March 23-25. The focus is on Baptism. Registration closes March 5, which is tomorrow. Pastor has more information for the class members.
PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.
CD’S AND TAPES OF THE SERVICE Audio tapes and CD’s of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.
ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.
