Announcements — May 13, Mother’s Day

BAPTISM We rejoice with Corey & Rhonda S. who’s daughter, Violet Claire, will receive the Rite of Holy Baptism today during the 10:45 am worship service. Her sponsors are Mark & Colette S. Her maternal grandparents are Ron & Barbara S. May the Lord bless and keep this family in his loving care.

SOUTHWEST CIRCUIT PASTORAL CONFERENCE will be held here tomorrow at 9:00 am. The LWML will serve lunch.

TRUSTEE/KITCHEN COMMITTEE All members of the board of trustees and the newly formed kitchen committee are asked to attend a meeting this Wednesday evening at 7:30.

SOFTBALL Let’s play ball!! The co-ed team will play Monday evening at 6:30 and again at 7:30 pm. The men’s team will play Thursday evening at 6:30.

CROSSLINES WORK DAY is this Friday, beginning at 8:00 am. If you would like to help with this very worthwhile mission, please contact Nan B.

Give…because every drop tells a story. THE COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER BLOODMOBILE will be on the parking lot next Sunday, May 20, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Please pick the time you would like to donate and sign your name on the sheet in the narthex. Be sure you have photo identification with you and eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to the blood drive.

ONE SERVICE A reminder that beginning Sunday, May 27, and for the rest of the summer, our worship schedule changes to one worship service with communion at 9:30 a.m., followed by Sunday School and Bible Class at 10:45 a.m.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the narthex after each service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.

CD’S AND TAPES OF THE SERVICE Audio tapes and CD’s of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

VOTERS’ ASSEMBLY At the voters’ meeting last Sunday evening it was approved to go to one worship service for the summer. Beginning on May 27, there will be one service at 9:30 am and Sunday School at 10:45 am. Holy Communion will be celebrated each Sunday.

LWML SPRING RALLY The Southwest Zone Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Spring Rally is this afternoon at 3:00, at the Gene Taylor Community Building in Sarcoxie. Hosted by the Ladies’ Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sarcoxie. The guest speaker for the rally is Rosie Speck, who will talk about “Living as a Christian in a Muslim World”. Ms. Speck taught in Tehran and will come dressed in common Muslim attire. Contact Mary P., if you would like to attend and need a ride.

IN OUR PRAYERS Don H., undergoing treatment for cancer: Lora S., who leaves this week on her mission trip to Haiti.

OUR THANKS to the Sunday School children for helping with the worship services this morning. We appreciate their participation.

BOARD OF EDUCATION The Board is meeting today after the late service and you are invited to join us as we seek to make the education programs for our children the best we can. We are making plans for this year’s VBS and other important activities that are coming up. Please consider attending. Lunch is provided, so come on down.

VOTERS’ MEETING The regular Voters’ meeting for April is this evening at 7:00 p.m. Along with our regular business, a final decision will be made on having one worship service this summer at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday School at 10:45 a.m. Come join us for this important meeting.
LWML will meet this Wednesday evening at 6:30. Nan B. will have the topic and Jan Garoutte and Gerry Schnackenberg will be the hostesses. All ladies of the congregation are invited.

FAMILY CAMPOUT PLANNED Wishin’ to go fishin’? Here’s your chance for some great family time along with some great fishing time. A “family campout” is planned for this weekend at Dale & Leann B.s’ property south of Lockwood. (map provided) There is a large stocked pond with room to camp for the night. BOARD OF EDUCATION  The Board is meeting next Sunday after the late service and you are invited to join us as we seek to make the education programs for our children the best we can.  Lunch is provided, so come on down.

MARRIAGE RETREAT  Plans are being made for a marriage retreat on May 11-12.  If you have an interest in attending, please write your name and phone number on the specified sheet in the narthex.  More information is in the April Shepherd’s Staff.  You may also visit with Darren or Kara Gallup, who are heading up the retreat.  The retreat will be at the Meadows Resort in Branson, MO.  There will be no cost to you for the room.  Limited space, so sign up now!
