† VBS REGISTRATION  Vacation Bible School will be held July 23 – 27, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, with a light dinner at 5:30 pm each evening.  There are registration forms in the narthex.  Please, make sure to fill out a registration form if you are participating or helping and include your t-shirt size so Nicole can order the shirts.  You can use one sheet for  multiple members in a family if you want, but be sure to include all their shirt sizes.

† VBS KICK-OFF PARTY  Come out to the Carthage Municipal Park today for this year’s VBS kick-off!  The fun will start at 4:00 pm with rides at Kiddie Land.  There will be a picnic at 5:00 pm.  Pulled pork sandwiches will be provided.  Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.  The festivities will conclude with swimming at the Carthage Municipal Pool from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

† DID YOU KNOW that audio recordings of the service are made most Sundays for the sick or the shut-ins?  Disks containing the Sunday service are available, if you would like a copy see an Elder or check with the church office.

† SINGLE SENIOR LADIES  A group of single, senior ladies has formed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  They are meeting the last Sunday of each month.  Come join them for some fellowship, fun and snacks on Sunday, July 30, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Ruby S.’s home in Carthage.  If you have any questions or need directions, please contact Ann L. or Ruby S. † THE QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING is scheduled for Sunday, July 30, at 7:00 pm.

† HELP PLEASE  GSLC collects food items for Crosslines in Carthage monthly. There is a large collection can upstairs and a shopping cart downstairs in which people place their items for donation.  Until now, Nan Borg has been the one taking care of getting these items delivered to Crosslines.  During this time while she is struggling with her shoulder injury, it would be great if others would step in to help with this.     Crosslines address is 600 East 6th Street in Carthage and they are open Tuesday – Thursday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

† LWML  For the month of July the LWML will be taking a little break.  There will not be a meeting or event for LWML until August 1, which will be their regular monthly meeting in the church Fellowship Hall.

† LWML QUARTERLIES  The LWML Summer Quarterlies are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† PORTALS OF PRAYER  The new Portals of Prayer for the Summer are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract  others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in    the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.
