† IN OUR PRAYERS  Megan M., at home, on bedrest until delivery; Jack H., back at home, undergoing rehab; Jody G., placed  on hospice; Stella Q., undergoing rehab at St Luke’s Nursing Center; Kathy P., suffering health issues; Sara P., undergoing treatment for cancer; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† CONGRATULATIONS to Lacy R. and Jarrett E. who were united in marriage yesterday, here at Good Shepherd.  We rejoice with them and pray for God’s blessings as they begin their life together as husband and wife.  Lacy is the daughter of Walter and Angela R.

† 50TH ANNIVERSARY  On Friday, June 30th, John Allen H. and Janice Louise H. (Wilson) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  The family would like to invite everyone to enjoy cookies and punch in the narthex after the service in honor of this wonderful occasion.

† TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY will not meet this Tuesday.

† LYF FIREWORKS STAND  Good Shepherd’s Youth Group is running a fireworks stand at 1200 Briarbrook, across from Casey’s, in Carl Junction, as a fundraiser.  It is open through July 4.  Come and purchase all of your fireworks here and help support our LYF!

† THANK YOU  We would like to thank everyone for celebrating with us our 50th wedding anniversary.  The cards, well wishes and gifts      were wonderful and your presence at the reception was so very much appreciated.  We wish we would have been able to spend more time with each of you.  Our special thanks to our family for making it such a special day.  We love you all.  ~ James and Gerry

† VBS REGISTRATION  Vacation Bible School will be held July 23 – 27, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, with a light dinner at 5:30 pm each evening.  There are registration forms in the narthex.  Please, make sure to fill out a registration form if you are participating or helping and include your t-shirt size so Nicole can order the shirts.  You can use one sheet for  multiple members in a family if you want, but be sure to include all their shirt sizes.

† VBS KICK-OFF PARTY  Come out to the Carthage Municipal Park for   this year’s VBS kick-off on Sunday, July 16.  The fun will start at 4:00 pm with rides at Kiddie Land.  There will be a picnic at 5:00 pm.  Pulled pork sandwiches will be provided.  Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.  The festivities will conclude with swimming at the Carthage Municipal Pool from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

† REFORMATION CELEBRATION – IT’S STILL ABOUT JESUS  This is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.  Immanuel Lutheran, Joplin is planning  a day of fellowship and fun with area Lutheran churches.  If you would like to help organize this day, we are having a planning meeting July 6th at 6:00 pm.  Please come with your ideas.  Contact Betty L. or the church office 417-624-0333 for more details.

† LWML  For the month of July the LWML will be taking a little break.  There will not be a meeting or event for LWML until August 1, which will be their regular monthly meeting in the church Fellowship Hall.

† VBS HELP NEEDED  Two work days have been scheduled to help make and set up decorations for VBS.  The dates and times are Thursday, July 6 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm and Saturday, July 15 at 9:00 am.  Any and all help would be appreciated, more hands make fun and faster work.  If you have questions, please contact Nichole B.

† LWML QUARTERLIES  The LWML Summer Quarterlies are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† PORTALS OF PRAYER  The new Portals of Prayer for the Summer are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† MEALS FOR PASTOR’S FAMILY  While Megan is home and on bedrest for the duration of her pregnancy, meals for Pastor and his family are being organized by Brenda K. and Rosann C.  Thanks to all of you who have already volunteered.  If you would like to help with this in any way, please contact them to get involved.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract  others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having difficulty hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume
