Announcements — February 17, 2019

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Wynette Q., recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor; Sue V., at St. Luke’s in Carthage receiving rehab after a broken hip; Jack H., at St. Luke’s dealing with multiple health issues; George M., fighting an infection; LuVerne C., undergoing treatment for lymphoma; Kathy P., suffering health issues; Sara P., undergoing treatment for cancer; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† KIDS KITS  There are bags in the narthex just outside of the sanctuary that are intended for children to use during the service.  The new kits have been provided and are going to be maintained by the GSLC Friends Bible Study Group.  There are some items in the bag that are marked that can be taken home.  Most items in the bag are intended to stay in the bags so that they can be used each Sunday. 

† BAKE SALE  A big thank you to all who baked and all who bought last Sunday!  The leftovers were taken to the Carthage PD so we could thank them also for their hard work each and everyday.  Caring is sharing …spread the Good News.  

† THANK  YOU  A huge thank you to everyone who donated for my mission trip to Mexico!! I got a little over $200 extra! Which I will put forward to use for my next mission trip to Costa Rica next year! Thank you so much for being so generous! God has blessed me way more than I can imagine! Thank you so, so, so much! ~ Lydia N.

† OFFERING STATEMENTS  The 2018 offering statements are on the round table in the narthex.  If you need your statement mailed, please contact the church office, 358-1325.

† MEAL DELIVERY  Good Shepherd’s week to deliver meals for the Over-60 Center is March 4-8.  If you can help with this worthwhile project, please contact Betty E.

† FLOWER CHART, 2019  If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart hanging on the wall next to the water fountain in the hallway.  Simply write your name, phone number, and occasion with the pen provided.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING  The offering from both Adult Bible Class  and Sunday School for the months of January and February will be going to The Presbyterian Children’s Home & Services in Joplin.  PCHAS helps foster care parents and children in our area.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the  service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL  The Sunday School students will be sharing the songs they have been working on about God’s love with the congregation during the service today. 

† BAPTISM  We rejoice with Clay and Roberta C. at the baptism of their son, Richard Ethan C., yesterday.  Richard was born June 22, 2018.  Richard’s sponsors are Bradley and Donya M.  We ask God to bless this family always with His love and grace.

† GSLC THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY AND FELLOWSHIP finished their study of the book of Genesis.  The class will now move into the book of Exodus.  The group meets each Thursday morning at 10:00 am.  Come and check it out, now would be a good time to start!  

† GSLC BAND will not be meeting again until next fall.
