† IN OUR PRAYERS  Katherine R., recovering from surgery for a broken hip; Mary Beth C., recovering from a broken wrist; Wynette Q., recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor;Sue V., at St. Luke’s in Carthage receiving rehab after a broken hip; Jack H., at St. Luke’s dealing with multiple health issues; Kathy P., suffering health issues; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† EASTER EGG HUNT  The Easter Egg hunt will be held after the service around 10:30 am (once the eggs are all hidden).  If you would like to      participate please meet downstairs in the Sunday School Fellowship area for some instructions before we begin.  

† LWML SPRING RALLY will be held at Grace in Aurora next Sunday,      April 28.  The theme is “The Truth will Set You Free”.  Registration is at 2:30 pm and the Rally begins at 3:00 pm. 

† BREAKFAST IN THE PARK  LWML will host their annual Breakfast in the Park on Saturday, May 11, at 10:00 am for all ladies of the congregation.   It will be held at Jennifer S.’s home, in Carthage.

       Hostesses are Jennifer Shannon and Libby Shannon.  Come enjoy a relaxing fun morning with your fellow women from Good Shepherd.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING  The Spring quarter offerings from both   Sunday School and Adult Bible Class will be going to LovinGrace in Joplin.  This is a faith based organization that provides a Christian-based approach for helping young women who have aged-out of foster care, are homeless, or have limited support systems to obtain the skills and education they need to live a productive life on their own.

† GRADUATES  In the May issue of the Shepherd’s Staff we want to          recognize all those who are graduating or have graduated this school year from either high school, college, or trade school. If you would like your student included, please submit a photo along with a bio to the church office by Tuesday, April 23. 

† EASTER LILIES  Thanks to everyone who helped beautify the sanctuary with lilies!

† LWML QUARTERLIES  The LWML Spring quarterlies are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† SUMMER HELP WANTED  Doug S. is looking for a Jr High or High School aged student to help him out with light yard work on Saturdays this summer.  If you would like to earn some extra money this summer and are available Saturdays, contact Doug.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

April 18: Maundy Thursday Communion Service – 11:00 am, 7:00 pm

† HOLY SATURDAY PRAYER VIGIL  There is a sign up sheet for our Saturday, April 20, Prayer Vigil on the narthex round table.  Please consider signing up for a 15 minute slot.  Certainly you are welcome to come in for prayer at anytime and you can stay as long as you want, but we would like to have someone here in prayer through the entire 6 hour time period.

† EASTER EGG HUNT  Once again the Board of Education (with a lot of help from our Lutheran Youth Fellowship) is sponsoring the annual Easter Egg Hunt.  The excitement begins right after the 9:00 am Easter Worship     Service at 10:30 am, so bring your own basket and get ready for some fun.   

† HE IS RISEN EASTER BREAKFAST SIGN-UP  An Early Easter Sunrise Service calls for a new early riser breakfast menu.  This year LWML will provide biscuits, gravy, and scrambled eggs.  There is a sign-up sheet available in the narthex on the round table for others to help out with: fruit, juice, milk, sweet rolls, paper plates, and cups.

† GSLC ANNUAL LADIES’ NIGHT OUT A big thank you to Lora Wacker and all those involved in helping and donation food for the annual Ladies Night Out.  A wonderful time was had by all who attended!

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN will be singing on Palm Sunday, April 14, during the service.

† SOUTHERN SYMPHONIC CHORUS Several members of GSLC are performing in this chorus today at 3:00 pm.  The concert of John Rutter’s Requiem will be held in the Central Christian Center.  Admission is free.  It would be wonderful to have our congregation there.

CONGRATULATIONS We rejoice with Alex & Hannah R. at the birth of their baby girl, Violet M. Violet was born March 14, in Joplin, MO.

RECEPTION OF NEW MEMBERS This morning, during the service, Good Shepherd will be receiving new members: Lyndsay M. and Roy (Dale) W. So thankful to have them as a part of our church family.

GSLC ANNUAL LADIES’ NIGHT OUT will be held tonight at 5:00 pm. No matter what you call it, be there for dinner and fun. The guys will cook, serve, and clean up while the ladies relax. The whole family is welcome… but door prizes are just for the gals! The men will need to bring something yummy for the famous “dessert buffet”. This will be a great way to kick off our favorite time of year, Spring! We will have an ole’ fashioned BBQ with all the ‘fixins’. Contact Dave or Lora W. for more information.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL PLANNING MEETING There will be a VBS planning meeting after Sunday School today. We would love to have anyone and everyone interested in being involved in VBS this year at our planning meeting. It would be great to have a large group involved in the planning process.

WATERED GARDENS MISSION PROJECT The LWML is having a non-perishable food drive during the months of March and April to help fill the shelves at Watered Gardens. Please place your donations in the basket provided in the narthex. Monetary donations can also be given to Mary Parks, Diana E., or the church office.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.
