Announcements — May 1, 2022

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Rhonda N., dealing with health issues from hyperthyroidism; Maggie C., recovering from COVID; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† 2022 VBS, “Tree of Life”, has been scheduled for July 24 – 28.  There is a VBS volunteer table set up in the narthex today to help us start to prepare for VBS.  Anyone who thinks they would be able to help or has questions should stop and see us.

† OFFERING PLATE  We have decided to begin passing the offering plate again as opposed to leaving it at the back of the sanctuary.  Do not be alarmed if the plate is passed to you.  We plan on passing it to everyone.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL  This summer Good Shepherd will take a break from Sunday School Classes.  The break will begin after Sunday May 22.  Sunday School will kick off again with Rally Day on Sunday, September 11.  Watch the summer Newsletters and bulletins for other summer opportunities for children.  Adult Bible Class will continue during the summer.

† PORTALS OF PRAYER  The new Portals of Prayer for the spring are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† IN OUR PRAYERS  The Schnelle Family, at the death of Doug’s mother, Joan; Jill K., recovering at home from back surgery; Rhonda N., dealing with health issues from hyperthyroidism; Maggie C., recovering from COVID; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† 2022 VBS, “Tree of Life”, has been scheduled for July 24 – 28.  There will be a VBS volunteer table set up on May 1, in the narthex after church to help us start to prepare for VBS.  Anyone who thinks they would be able to help or has questions should stop and see us.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL SINGS  The Sunday School Children plan to sing in church next  Sunday, May 1.

† UKRAINE FUNDRAISER  Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt is having a Spaghetti Dinner and Dessert Auction on Friday, April 29, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm.  All proceeds will directly help displaced Ukrainians through LCMS mission    partners.

† THANK YOU  Christian Education would like to extend a thank you to everyone who participated in donating to the Easter egg treats this year.  We had a wonderful variety of candy and treasures to fill up the eggs!

† LWML SPRING RALLY will be held today at 3:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin.

† 125 YEAR CELEBRATION  Immanuel Lutheran Church (Joplin) will be celebrating 125 years on the weekend of April 30. There will be a dinner and dance on the evening of April 30.  On Sunday, May 1, there will be a special worship service at 10:30 am and a lunch.  For more information there is a letter hanging on the bulletin board of the information desk.

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Jill K., recovering at home from back surgery; Rhonda N., dealing with health issues from hyperthyroidism; Maggie C., recovering from COVID; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† VBS MEETING  2022 VBS, “Tree of Life”, has been scheduled for July 24 – 28. There will be a VBS volunteer meeting on May 1, after Sunday School to start to prepare for VBS.  Anyone who thinks they would be able to help ahead of time or during, even if it’s just walking a group around, should join us.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL SINGS  The Sunday School Children plan to sing in church on  Sunday, May 1.

† PEW SPACING  We have removed the restrictions on the back pews. Be mindful of the space that we have and try to use all of the seating available, especially at full services.

† BACK PEWS  We would like to transition away from the spacing between the back pews of the sanctuary.  If spacing is a concern for you, speak to a member of the Board of Elders or Pastor.

April 14: Maundy Thursday Communion Service – 11:00 am, 7:00 pm

April 15: Good Friday Worship Service – 11:00 am, 7:00 pm

April 16: Prayer Vigil – 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

April 17: Easter Sunrise Service – 6:30 am

Easter Breakfast – 7:30 am

Easter Egg Hunt – 8:30 am

Easter Worship Service with Communion – 9:00 am
