† IN OUR PRAYERS Ruth H., recovering at home; Heather U.,  at home undergoing further medical care; Ellie H., receiving rehab at Wildwood Skilled Nursing Facility; Sue V., recovering at home  from shoulder surgery; Jody G., Audrey M., Janice H.’s mother, in extended care; Luverne C., Carol L., recovering at home; Paula B.April K., undergoing treatment for cancer.

† STEPHEN MINISTER CERTIFICATIONS will be presented to Earl K., Janet C., Curt S., Brenda D. and Clarice O. this morning.  They are serving as members of the Stephen Ministry Board in our congregation and are helping to implement the program here at GSLC.

† JR CONFIRMATION RETREAT  There are five youth and two adult counselors attending the Jr Confirmation Retreat at Camp Windermere beginning Friday of this week.  Please pray for both the youth and their adult counselors as they travel, spend time together, and grow in their relationship with each other and with their Savior.  They will return Sunday afternoon.

† LENT  During Lent, we have weekday services each Wednesday at     11:00 am and 7:00 pm.  Part of the passion story of Jesus is read each week.  Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† NO CLASSES THIS WEEK  Due to Spring Break, there will be no Wednesday classes this week.  The Wednesday evening schedule for Lent will resume on March 25.

† SCRIPTURE STUDY  Due to our 11:00 am Lenten service, the Wed. morning Scripture Study Group meets a little earlier, 9:45 am, during Lent.  If you are planning on attending the morning Lenten service, you could come a little early and join them!

† EASTER EGG HUNT  The LYF will be filling the plastic eggs for the annual Sunday School Easter Egg hunt.  They are asking the congregation for donations of rolls of nickels/dimes, small prizes, or bags of individually wrapped candy.  Your donations can be placed in the container provided in the youth room or they can be dropped off in the church office.  Thanks for your help with this project!

† EASTER LILIES  If you would like to purchase one or more lilies to help adorn our sanctuary on Easter, please use the sign up sheet in the narthex.  The cost is $8.00 each.  Please pay Diana Endicott.

† HOLY SATURDAY PRAYER VIGIL  There is a sign up sheet for our Saturday, April 4th Prayer Vigil on the narthex round table.  Please consider signing up for a 15 minute slot.  Certainly you are welcome to come in for prayer at anytime and you can stay as long as you want, but we would like to have someone here in prayer through the entire 12 hour time period.

† EASTER BREAKFAST SIGN UP  The Easter breakfast sign up sheet is in the narthex on the round table.  Please take a moment to check it over and then put your name by what you are willing to bring.

† MEAL DELIVERY  Thank you, to all those who helped with the Over 60 Center meal delivery this past week.  What a great way to help support our local community!

† THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS  Be sure to direct your 2014 Choice Dollars.  Eligible Thrivent Financial members have until March 31, 2015, to direct any remaining 2014 Choice Dollars.  After that date, they expire.  Through the Thrivent Choice program, eligible members have the power to recommend where Thrivent distributes part of its charitable grant funds annually.  Choice Dollars can be directed to thousands of enrolled nonprofit organizations, including Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  If you need      information on directing your Choice Dollars, there is an informational sheet in the church office.

† CONGRATULATIONS to Donya A. and Bradley M. who were united in marriage yesterday, here at Good Shepherd.  We rejoice with them and pray for God’s blessings as they begin their life together as husband and wife.  Bradley is the son of Glenn & Karen M.

† VOICES OF VICTORY TEEN CHALLENGE CHOIR will be singing    in both services today.  They are a choir from Ozark, MO, that travels to churches across the U.S. to sing and give testimony about what the Lord is doing in their lives.  It is wonderful to have them here with us today!

† 70 AND OVER DINNER  The youth group will be serving a four-course meal to those in our congregation who are 70 years of age (three score and ten) this evening at 5:00 pm.  It is one way our youth wish to show their appreciation for these seasoned congregational members.  Please bring along a photo of yourself from “the good old days”.

† WEDDING INVITATION  Because you have shared in our lives by your friendship and love, we, Bradley M. and  Donya A.  together with our parents, invite you to share the beginning of our new life together when  we exchange vows Saturday, the Seventh of March, at four o’clock in the   afternoon.  The couple will have a private reception.

† 70 AND OVER DINNER  The youth group will be serving a four-course meal to those in our congregation who are 70 years of age (three score and ten) and older next Sunday evening, March 8, at 5:00.  It is one way our youth wish to show their appreciation for these seasoned congregational members.  Please, bring a photo of yourself from “the good old days”.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or         distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† MARY FISCHER  Mary Lou Fischer, 87, of Golden City, was received into the arms of her Savior Monday, February 16, 2015, at her home.  Mary was born January 8, 1928, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She was the daughter of Ollie Hensley and Gladys “Carney” Hensley.  On July 17, 1949, Mary was united in marriage to Elmo Fischer.  To this union three children were born: Roger, Jeanne Anne and Valerie.  Elmo preceded her in death on February 6, 1988.  Mary was a long time resident of the area, raising her family and helping on the family farm.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Carthage and was also a member of their quilting circle.  Burial was in Meinert Cemetery in Lockwood, Missouri.  Memorial Contributions can be made to The Lutheran Hour or the American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.

† THE LADIES’ NIGHT OUT DINNER  was a very enjoyable evening of wonderful entertainment and great food!  Thanks so much to Lora Wacker for heading this event up and all those who helped her put it together!

† NOTE OF THANKS  We want to say a special thanks to Doug S. for clearing our parking lot this week after the snow and ice!  It was wonderful to have a cleared lot for our morning Bible Classes and Ash Wednesday Services this week. Thank you, Doug!

† GSLC SUNDAY SCHOOL STAFF AND TEACHERS will be meeting  today after the late service.  The group gets together monthly to discuss the lessons, plan activities, and have devotions with Pastor.  Anyone involved in or wanting to be involved with the teaching of our children is   welcome to attend.
