† IN OUR PRAYERS  The D. family, at the death of Gary D.; Earl K., undergoing hip replacement surgery Tuesday; Carlin P., recovering from shoulder surgery; Kathy P., suffering health issues; Sara P., undergoing treatment for cancer.

† LADIES NIGHT OUT  This year’s Ladies Night Out, hosted by the LWML, will be held tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm.  It will be held at Diana E.’s house in Neosho.  There is a sign-up sheet on the round table in the narthex.  All ladies are invited and encouraged to come!!!

† WEDNESDAY MORNING SCRIPTURE STUDY will not meet this Wednesday, October 12.

† THE ANNUAL MEN’S FISHING/CAMPOUT is being planned for Oct. 21 – 23 at Dale’s Fish’n Hole.  Mark the date on your calendar.  Please add your name to the provided sign up sheet if you plan to attend.

† MARK YOUR CALENDAR  The date for this year’s Hobo Dinner has been set for Sunday, October 30, at 5:00 pm.  Please check your October Newsletter for more information.

† SOCKTOBER  The youth group would like to have a community service project during the month of October.  LYF will set up collection bins at the church.  We ask that members donate cold weather items such as socks, gloves, scarves, hats, and sweaters as well as toiletry items such as deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and fluoride rinse.  At the end of the month of October, the youth will deliver these donations to Children’s Haven.

† MEAL DELIVERY  GSLC’s week to deliver meals for the Over-60 Center starts this Monday, October 10, and goes through Friday, October 14.  If you can help with this worthwhile project, please contact Betty Ellefsen, 358-6418.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING  Starting in September and going through the end of the year, Sunday School offerings, both the adult and the children’s, are being designated to Immanuel Lutheran’s Comfort Dog Team’s fund for medical expenses.  Our previous goal for Children’s Haven was $1,000 and we achieved that goal.  Let’s see if we can exceed that amount this time!  Thanks so much for your support of this project.

† Organist Needed  If you or someone you know can play the piano or organ and would be willing to play for church one Sunday per month, please let Pastor or Greg G. know.  We are looking to add another player to the organist roster!

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure    readings.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a  transistor radio and you can control the volume.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if  you need directions.

† CALL APPROVED  After the Special Voters’ Meeting held on Sunday, September 18, following the late service, it was voted to issue a Call to Reverend Christopher Stout.

† LADIES NIGHT OUT  Mark your calendars for this year’s Ladies Night Out, hosted by the LWML, which will be held on Monday, October 10, at 6:30 pm.  It will be held at Diana E.’s house in Neosho.  There is a  sign-up sheet on the round table in the narthex.  All ladies are invited and encouraged to come!!!

† CALL APPROVED  After the Special Voters’ Meeting held last Sunday following the late service, it was voted to issue a Call to Reverend Christopher Stout.

† COMMUNICATION SURVEY  If you didn’t get to fill out the communication survey that was handed out last Sunday, please take one from the round table in the narthex and fill it out and place it in the blue tray.  Thanks for your participation.

† Jr. Confirmation instruction started last Sunday.  It is held at 1:15 pm in the Conference Room.  Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanation will be provided to each new Confirmand, but each student will need to bring their own Bible to class.

† IN OUR PRAYERS  The family of Ralph Luce, at Ralph’s death last Sunday; Carlin P., recovering from shoulder surgery; Kathy P., suffering health issues; Gary D., Sara P., undergoing treatment for cancer.

† A SPECIAL VOTERS’ MEETING will be held today after the late service.  The purpose of the meeting is to provide direction to the Call Committee regarding the next steps in the process since Reverend Derek Roberts    declined the call.  A second call may be considered and voted on at this meeting.  Please attend this special meeting.

† COMMUNICATION SURVEY  Please fill out the communication survey  inserted in today’s bulletin and return it to the blue tray on the round table in the narthex.  Thanks for your participation.

† LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP will have a planning meeting this      evening at 6:00 pm in the youth room.  Bring your ideas and calendars along to start scheduling some fun activities for this fall and winter.

† SHEPHERD’S OWN  After a brief summer hiatus, The Shepherd’s Own   resumed weekly rehearsals last week.  Rehearsals are held 6:30-7:30 pm on Wednesdays.  If you enjoy singing praises to the Lord in four-part harmony, and fellowship with a fun group of sinner-saints, now would be  a good time to join the group – no audition required!
