REFORMATION SUNDAY Next Sunday we will commemorate the posting of the 95 Thesis by Martin Luther which marked the beginning of the Reformation. Our guest Pastor will be the Rev. Gary Asmus. He is a retired pastor, and he and his wife, Lorraine, live in Joplin.
NEXT SUNDAY Hayrides-Hobo Supper-Harvest Party We will start “making” the stew around 5:00 pm. Bring some of your own pre-cooked stew or cooked vegetables or meat to toss in the big black pot on the open fire. Hayrides will start at 5:30 pm and will be held at Jack H.’s home, which is 2 miles west of the church on Hwy 96, house on the right. By the time the hayrides are over, the stew should be hot and ready to dish up. It is always so good! Yep, it’s that time a’ year agin fer ever’one to put on yer Sunday worst, forget to shave n’ comb out yer hair, and come to church to chow down on some a’the best vittles (that’s hobo talk for food) yuv ever tasted! Stew that’s a mite better’n Ma used to make! Along with all this fun, the children will be having a Harvest Party. They can “dress up” in a “friendly” costume if they want to. There will be games to play and special treats handed out. This is gonna be loads a’ fun, and ya don’t wanna miss it! Bring yer friends, too, ‘cause they’re a’ welcome!
