† IN OUR PRAYERS  Sue V., recovering from surgery at St. Luke’s; Aaron P., at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis receiving treatment for cancer;  Kathy P., suffering health issues; Jack H., recovering at home; Paula B., April K., Sara P., Sara T., undergoing treatment for cancer.

† EASTER EGG HUNT  The LYF will be filling the plastic eggs for the annual Sunday School Easter Egg hunt.  They are asking the congregation for donations   of rolls of nickels/dimes, small prizes, or bags of individually wrapped candy.  Your donations can be placed in the container provided in the youth room or they can be dropped off in the church office.  Thanks for your help with this project!

† EASTER BREAKFAST SIGN UP  The Easter breakfast sign up sheet is in the narthex on the round table.  Please take a moment to check it over and then put your name by what you are willing to bring.

† MEAL DELIVERY  Good Shepherd’s week to deliver meals for the Over-60 Center is March 7-11.  If you can help with this worthwhile project, please contact Betty E.

† STEPHEN MINISTRY  Last Sunday morning there was a commissioning service for our first ever class of trained Stephen Ministers.  These nine individuals are equipped to serve as an embodiment of Christ’s love to hurting persons in our church and community.  Stephen Ministry of GSLC is now accepting referrals concerning individuals who may benefit from this distinctively Christian, one-on-one, confidential care.  If you are aware of anyone who is in distress because of illness, grief, changes in their life circumstances or any other of the hurts that occur in our earthly journey, please contact Janet C., Earl K., or Pastor Mackie.

† LENT  During lent we have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† SCRIPTURE STUDY  During Lent the Scripture Study Group is meeting a little earlier, 9:30 am, due to our 11:00 am Lent service.  If you are planning on attending the morning Lent service, you could come a little early and join them!

† THANK YOU to all those who participated in our “Souper Bowl” canned good drive for Crosslines.  Our church donated a total of 647 items.  Thank you for all your help in supporting this worthy cause!

† LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF  This Lent season, our congregation is taking part in Lutheran World Relief’s Baskets of Promise campaign.  Each week in Lent, we will collect items to form LWR Personal Care Kits that help impoverished people stay healthy in life’s most challenging situations.  This Sunday we are collecting toothbrushes (adult size, in the original packaging).  Next week we will be collecting combs.  Please bring your donations to worship next Sunday.  If you have any questions please contact Lora W. or Brenda K. Thanks for your help with this project!

† EASTER LILIES  If you would like to purchase one or more lilies to help adorn our sanctuary on Easter, please use the sign up sheet in the narthex.  The cost is $8.00 each.  Please pay Diana E.

† DISASTER ASSISTANCE  There is information posted on the bulletin board in the information area about receiving disaster assistance from FEMA if you were affected by the flooding in December.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract others  during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† VALENTINE’S DAY LADIES’ NIGHT OUT  A big thank you to Brenda K., Judy G. and all those involved in putting together the Ladies’ Night Out dinner.  The food was wonderful and it was a fun evening of fellowship and music.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a  transistor radio and you can control the volume.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY  A big thanks to everyone who has participated in this year’s Souper Bowl Sunday drive to help fill the shelves of Crosslines of Carthage.

† VALENTINE’S DAY LADIES’ NIGHT OUT is this evening at 5:00 pm.  Along with the men serving the ladies a wonderful dinner, there will be live music before, during and after dinner provided by the Loose Notes.  Please come and join us for a   wonderful evening of fun, food and entertainment.

† VALENTINE BAKE SALE  The LWML is having a bake sale today between the    services and after the late service.  Make sure to stop by a get some delicious goodies.  (Hey guys what a great way to get your dessert for this evening.)  Thanks to those who donated baked goods.

† LENT starts this Wednesday, February 10, with our Ash Wednesday services.    We will once again have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm throughout Lent. Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† LERT TRAINING  People with emergency response training can be given access to managed disaster zones to offer assistance.  Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin will offer Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) training on Saturday February 27,  2016 from 8 AM to 4 PM.  Registration fee is $35 which includes manual, LCMS volunteer vest and lunch.  This will include FEMA training and you will receive a FEMA card.  For more information contact Kenneth Eby at (417) 529-0143 or K-eby@att.net.  There are forms about the LERT training on the round table in the narthex.
