† MEAL DELIVERY Thank you to all those who helped with the Over 60 Center meal delivery. What a great way to help support our local community! The Area Agency on Aging will be hosting a volunteer appreciation night for all those who helped. The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Carthage Senior Center. There will be pizza and prizes. Please RSVP no later than Sept. 10 to (417)358-4741.
† SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING Starting in September and going through the end of the year, Sunday School offerings, both the adult and the children’s, are being designated to Immanuel Lutheran’s Comfort Dog Team’s fund for medical expenses. Our previous goal for Children’s Haven was $1,000 and we achieved that goal. Lets see if we can exceed that amount this time! Thanks so much for your support of this project.
† Jr. Confirmation instruction will start in September. Jr. Confirmands and their parents are asked to attend an organizational meeting next Sunday, September 11, in the conference room. Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanation will be provided to each new Confirmand, but each student will need to bring their own Bible to class.
† SHEPHERD’S OWN After a brief summer hiatus, The Shepherd’s Own will resume weekly rehearsals beginning on Wednesday, September 14. Rehearsals are held 6:30-7:30 pm. If you enjoy singing praises to the Lord in four-part harmony, and fellowship with a fun group of sinner-saints, now would be a good time to join the group – no audition required!
† GSLC BAND will resume their regular practices on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
† Nominating Committee If you would be willing to serve on the nominating committee this fall, please contact Dave Wacker. The nominating committee is responsible for providing a slate of willing individuals to serve in elected positions of our Lord’s church here at Good Shepherd.
† Organist Needed If you or someone you know can play the piano or organ and would be willing to play for church one Sunday per month, please let Pastor or Greg Golden know. We are looking to add another player to the organist roster!
