† IN OUR PRAYERS  Stella Q., at Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, after falling and breaking her other hip; Megan M., at Freeman Hospital, experiencing some complications with her pregnancy; Jody G., placed on hospice; Jack H., undergoing rehab at St Luke’s Nursing      Center; Kathy P., suffering health issues; Sara P., undergoing treatment for cancer; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† NAME TAG SUNDAY  Forgot someone’s name? –don’t be embarrassed. We are here to help you out!  Today, while we are enjoying having everyone all in one service, we have name tags for everyone to wear.  It is a great way to make sure everyone is able to get reacquainted with one another!

† YOUTH PLANT SALE  This morning the LYF will be selling various plants, donated by Doug Schnelle, for a free will offering.  Come outside and see what we have.  There is probably something you want!

† MEAL DELIVERY  Good Shepherd’s week to deliver meals for the Over-60 Center is this week.  If you can help with this worthwhile        project, please contact Betty E.

† SENIOR SINGLE LADIES  The Senior Single Ladies will meet this afternoon, instead of meeting the last Sunday of June.  They will meet from 1:00 – 4:00 pm, at Ruby S.’s home, in Carthage.  If you have any questions or need directions, please contact Ruby.

† FATHER’S DAY POTLUCK  Next Sunday, June 18, after Sunday School, GSLC will be having a “good ole fashioned pot luck” just for Dad.  Bring one or two of your favorite dishes to share and bring one or two friends, too!  There will be door prizes as well for the men.  What a wonderful excuse to have a fun fellowship event with food!  If you have questions, see Lora Wacker.

† SUMMER WORSHIP  For the summer months, GSLC will have one worship service on Sunday with Holy Communion and it will begin at 9:00 am.  Sunday School and Bible class will be at 10:30 am.

† IMMANUEL LUTHERAN VBS  Immanuel Lutheran in Joplin will be     holding their Vacation Bible School this coming week, June 12 – 16,   from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.  They are using the same theme that we will be using in July, so for those of you unable to attend ours or prefer a daytime VBS, they would love to have you attend.

† TUESDAY MORNING MEN’S BIBLE STUDY  A new Tuesday morning men’s Bible study has started.  The group is studying  “God’s Word for Today: 2 Peter & Jude”.  They meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 am in Joplin.  If you have any questions you can contact Greg G., or the church office, (417)358-1325.

† MEALS FOR PASTOR’S FAMILY  While Megan is staying in the hospital, meals for Pastor and his family are being organized by Brenda K. and Rosann C.  Thanks to all of you who have already volunteered.  If you would like to help with this in any way, please contact them to get involved.

† LWML QUARTERLIES  The LWML Summer Quarterlies are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† PORTALS OF PRAYER  The new Portals of Prayer for the Summer are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† HEIT’S Point Lutheran Ministries  Hang up the school backpacks and put away the books because summer is here!  It’s time to make sure you have your children and youth signed up for the program of their choice at Heit’s Point Lutheran Ministries.  There is so much fun to be had, and you don’t want to miss out on the valuable experiences that Heit’s   Point has to offer.  Camp programs provide a variety of activities and  adventures including swimming, hiking, canoeing, archery, games, arts and crafts, cookouts, and meeting new friends.  These activities are all centered on daily Bible study and worship that focuses on our summer theme entitled “Serving for Christ.”  There is still time to sign up for an experience that your child will always remember.  More information is  available at http://www.heitspoint.com/summer_camp_2017 or contact Heit’s Point office at info@heitpoint.com or 660-668-2363 for more information.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract  others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

† JR CONFIRMATION  This morning one of our young members, Korbin Mitchell F., will publicly confess his faith through the Rite of Confirmation during the early service.  Korbin is the son of Bradley and Donya M. and Nathan F. Korbin’s confirmation verse is “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be frightened,  and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

† SINGLE SENIOR LADIES  A group of single, senior ladies has formed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Come join them for some fellowship, fun and snacks today from 1:00 – 5:00 pm in the church fellowship hall.   Bring a snack to share with about 15 people.  For questions or more information, please contact Ann L.

† LWML SPRING RALLY  The LWML Rally of the Southwest Zone, which was postponed due to flooding in Neosho, will be held today at 3:00 pm at First Lutheran in Neosho.  All other plans for the Rally are the same with the ingathering going to Teen Challenge.
