† BAPTISM  We rejoice with Alex and Hannah R. at the baptism of their daughter, Violet Marie R. in the service this morning.  Violet was    born March 14, 2019.  Her sponsors are Rev. Jeff and Sarah Dukeman and Allison R.  We ask God to bless this family always with His love and grace.

† EASTER THANK YOU  What a beautiful Easter morning!  Thanks to all those who had a hand in making it all so wonderful.  Special thanks to  everyone who helped put the Easter Breakfast together.  Thanks to those who donated to the Easter egg hunt and the youth for taking care of it.  Thanks to all who donated lilies and those who help decorate the church.  And what terrific weather, praise be to God!

† LWML SPRING RALLY will be held at Grace in Aurora this afternoon.  The theme is “The Truth will Set You Free”.  Registration is at 2:30 pm and the Rally begins at 3:00 pm. 

† PRESENTATION  On Sunday, May 5, during Bible Study, Lydia Nicholas will be talking about and sharing pictures from her mission trip to Mexico.

† BREAKFAST IN THE PARK  LWML will host their annual Breakfast in the Park on Saturday, May 11, at 10:00 am for all ladies of the congregation.   It will be held at Jennifer Shannon’s home, in Carthage.

       Hostesses are Jennifer S. and Libby S.  Come enjoy a relaxing    fun morning with your fellow women from Good Shepherd.

† DOUG S. would like to say a heartfelt thank you for graciously letting him plant and talk about the dogwood tree.  He really enjoyed it and it made his whole day special! 

† SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING  The Spring quarter offerings from both   Sunday School and Adult Bible Class will be going to LovinGrace in Joplin.  This is a faith based organization that provides a Christian-based approach for helping young women who have aged-out of foster care, are homeless, or have limited support systems to obtain the skills and education they need to live a productive life on their own.

† LWML QUARTERLIES  The LWML Spring quarterlies are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† SUMMER HELP WANTED  Doug S. is looking for a Jr High or High School aged student to help him out with light yard work on Saturdays this summer.  If you would like to earn some extra money this summer and are available Saturdays, contact Doug.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

† EASTER EGG HUNT  The Easter Egg hunt will be held after the service around 10:30 am (once the eggs are all hidden).  If you would like to      participate please meet downstairs in the Sunday School Fellowship area for some instructions before we begin.

If you would like your student included, please submit a photo along with a bio to the church office by Tuesday, April 23.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

† HOLY SATURDAY PRAYER VIGIL  There is a sign up sheet for our Saturday, April 20, Prayer Vigil on the narthex round table.  Please consider signing up for a 15 minute slot.  Certainly you are welcome to come in for prayer at anytime and you can stay as long as you want, but we would like to have someone here in prayer through the entire 6 hour time period.

† EASTER EGG HUNT  Once again the Board of Education (with a lot of help from our Lutheran Youth Fellowship) is sponsoring the annual Easter Egg Hunt.  The excitement begins right after the 9:00 am Easter Worship     Service at 10:30 am, so bring your own basket and get ready for some fun.   

† HE IS RISEN EASTER BREAKFAST SIGN-UP  An Early Easter Sunrise Service calls for a new early riser breakfast menu.  This year LWML will provide biscuits, gravy, and scrambled eggs.  There is a sign-up sheet available in the narthex on the round table for others to help out with: fruit, juice, milk, sweet rolls, paper plates, and cups.

† GSLC ANNUAL LADIES’ NIGHT OUT A big thank you to Lora Wacker and all those involved in helping and donation food for the annual Ladies Night Out.  A wonderful time was had by all who attended!

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN will be singing on Palm Sunday, April 14, during the service.

† SOUTHERN SYMPHONIC CHORUS Several members of GSLC are performing in this chorus today at 3:00 pm.  The concert of John Rutter’s Requiem will be held in the Central Christian Center.  Admission is free.  It would be wonderful to have our congregation there.

† PORTALS OF PRAYER  The new Portals of Prayer for the spring are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.
