Announcements — December 1, 2024

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Sadie C., Doug and Peggy S.’s granddaughter; dealing with potential vision loss; Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Stephen  Ministry and their care receivers.

† ADVENT DEVOTIONALS  “His Gospel is Peace” devotional books are available in the Narthex on the information table.  Please take only one copy per family.

† TIME AND TALENT SURVEY  There are copies of the time and talent survey on the round table in the narthex.  There is a blue tray on the information table in the narthex for submitting the completed surveys.  If you have not done so   already Please take the time to fill it out.  This will help us learn who in our   congregation can help serve in different ways and help us connect you with the ministries and service opportunities that are the best fit. 

† LFCS SEASON OF SHARING  A big thanks to everyone who took an ornament from the tree in the narthex to sponsor a child connected to Lutheran Family and Children’s Services in Joplin for Christmas.  The unwrapped items need to be back under the tree by next Sunday, December 8.

† THREE WISE GUYS & THE GATHERING OF TALENTS will be held the evening of Sunday, December 15, at 6:00 pm.  We are rehearsing during the Sunday school hour.  The children are excited to be able to share the story of the Saviors birth with their congregation. Please join us.

† LWML CHRISTMAS  The LWML will be going Christmas Caroling to some of our church members on Tuesday, December 10.  This will be their Christmas party this year.  It will start at 5:00 pm at the church and end with dinner at Mis Arcos in Carthage.  All ladies are welcome to join us!

† MIDWEEK ADVENT SERVICES  As in recent years, Good Shepherd will provide midweek worship services at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm each Wednesday during Advent.  The first Advent service will be Wednesday, December 4.

† TREASURER NOTE  For the 11 months ended this November, our expenses    totaled $216,490 while our income totaled $207,995 leaving us a deficit of $8,495.

† POINSETTIAS  If you would like to purchase a poinsettia(s) to help adorn the sanctuary at Christmas, please use the sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex and prepay Diana E.  The cost is $10.00 each.

† THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE  Be sure to join us Wednesday, November 27, at 7:00 pm, for our Thanksgiving Eve Service with Holy Communion.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM will  be held the evening of    Sunday, December 15.  The children have been practicing the songs during   Sunday School time and the first rehearsal is today.  If you would like your  children to participate, please join us.
