ADVENT Next Sunday begins the Advent season of the church year, the time before Christmas when we prepare ourselves for the celebration of the birth of our Savior. Plan to attend the Mid-week Advent services, which begin Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 7:00 pm.
POINSETTIAS If you would like to purchase a poinsettia(s) to help adorn the sanctuary at Christmas (as in the past, it’s yours to take home after Christmas), please use the sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex. The cost is $8.00 each. See Diana E. about payment, and if you have any questions.
MOTHER’S DAY OUT DEC. 11 If you want to go Christmas shopping without your children, the youth group will baby sit for you on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 11, from 1:00 to 5:00 here at the church. There will be games, crafts and even snacks for the children while you are shopping to your heart’s content. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex to let the youth group know how many to plan for.
WOMEN’S RETREAT Jan. 27-29, 2012, are the dates of the Women’s Retreat to be held at the beautiful Wyndham Branson at the Meadows Resort, Branson, MO. Offered, at no cost to you, are two bedroom condos with a kitchenette and fold out sofa, that will sleep 4-6. There will be a $10.00 registration fee for each one attending. Please make your check payable to the LWML and give to Mary at the church office. The theme for this year’s retreat is, Say yes to the dress—your Bridegroom is coming! There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex to reserve your condo. More detailed information will be in the Dec. Shepherd’s Staff.
TAPES OF THE SERVICE Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex. Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.
ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the narthex after each service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.
PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.
