Announcements — March 3, 2019

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Wynette Q., recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor; Sue V., at St. Luke’s in Carthage receiving rehab after a broken hip; Jack H., at St. Luke’s dealing with multiple health issues; Sara P., undergoing treatment for cancer; Kathy P., suffering health issues; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME begins next Sunday.  Make sure to move your clock forward one hour this coming Saturday evening.

† MEAL DELIVERY  Good Shepherd’s week to deliver meals for the Over-60 Center is this week, March 4-8.  If you can help with this worthwhile      project, please contact Betty E.

† MOTORIZED SCOOTER in need of a home.  A member of GSLC has a      motorized mobility scooter that they would like to donate.  If you are in need of one, please contact the church office, 358-1325, for more details.

† KIDS KITS  There are bags in the narthex just outside of the sanctuary that are intended for children to use during the service.  The new kits have been provided and are going to be maintained by the GSLC Friends Bible Study Group.  There are some items in the bag that are marked that can be taken home.  Most items in the bag are intended to stay in the bags so that they can be used each Sunday.

† LENT starts this Wednesday, March 6, with our Ash Wednesday services.  We will once again have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm throughout Lent.  Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† WOMAN’S FELLOWSHIP GROUP  The Women’s Fellowship Group will start meeting again on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9-10 am at Mother Road Coffee in downtown Carthage.  Our next meeting is on March 16.  Please bring your Bible along.  All women are welcome to join us! 

† FLOWER CHART, 2019  If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart hanging on the wall next to the water fountain in the hallway.  Simply write your name, phone number, and occasion with the pen provided.

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the  service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.
