† CALL COMMITTEE UPDATE Thank you to those that participated in the survey. The District has the information and is accumulating the results for the Call Committee to review. The task of preparing a Ministry Description will guide us through the remainder of the Call process. The Ministry Description will be reviewed and approved by the Voters in a special meeting that will likely occur during the early part of June. Please continue to pray for our church as we continue through this process.
† PASTOR SUBMISSIONS If you’d like to submit a pastoral candidate to the Call Committee, submit a written request to either Dave W. or Rob S. by May 5. The submission should include the pastor’s name, current position, your name (in case we need to follow up with you) and how you know the pastor.
† NEW BANNER Have you noticed the new banner that features the Alpha and Omega? This banner will represent our Southwest Zone during the banner processional at the LWML Missouri District Convention in June. The theme for the Convention is “God’s Love Spans the Centuries.” The Alpha and Omega symbols, simply stated and displayed on a solid black background, says it ALL! God is Lord from the beginning of all time, to the end of all time. A span of time none of us can imagine. The banner was designed by Mary Parks and Karen Moll with Karen doing the sewing. Thank you, ladies, for such a striking banner.
† 70 & OVER DINNER All members (and their spouses) that are 70 years of age and over are invited to attend this annual dinner prepared and served especially for them by our Lutheran Youth Fellowship Group tonight at 5:00 pm. This special event is one way our youth wish to show their appreciation for these seasoned congregational members. It is always a lot of fun for both the younger members and the older members.
† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN will be singing at the beginning of the late service next Sunday, May 8, for Mother’s Day. They will continue working on their songs today and next Sunday in opening.
† ELDERS’ MEETING The Elders will meet tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm.
† LWML will meet this Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall.
† SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERINGS For the first couple of quarters in 2016, both the adult and the children’s Sunday School offerings will be going to Children’s Haven in Joplin. If you would like to monitor our progress, keep an eye on our bulletin board downstairs that will track our Sunday School offerings!
† ANNUAL FRIDAY NIGHT FAMILY CAMPOUT Mark your calendars, the annual Friday Night Family Campout has been scheduled for May 13 – 14. This event will be held at the “The Fishing Hole” (Dale & Lee Ann Beshears’ property south of Lockwood). There is sign up sheet on the round table in the narthex.
† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.
† ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.
† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after the service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.
