BAPTIZED TODAY We rejoice with Michael & Amber W. whose son, Colt Robert, will be baptized in the late service today. He was born August 3, 2013. Colt’s sponsors are Greg & Michelle E. He is the grandson of Kathy S. and Allen S. Bud & Ruby S. are the maternal great-grandparents. We pray for God’s blessings on this family.

LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP The LYF is having a progressive dinner this evening, visiting two homes for the different courses. We will begin our dining experience by meeting at the church at 5:00 pm travel to the first destination and finishing with dessert back at the church.

PASTOR’S CLASS Pastor will have an information class next Sunday afternoon, September 22, for anyone who is interested in joining Good Shepherd, who would like to know more about the Christian faith, or who would like to review the Lutheran Church’s teachings. The class starts at 1:00 and goes all afternoon. Light refreshments are served. The class is informal and questions are encouraged. Please let Pastor know if you are planning to attend.

CHOIR There is a sign up sheet on the round table for anyone interested in singing in a mixed choir. Dr. Johns will be the director. The time for practice will be worked out later. You don’t have to have a solo voice to sing in the choir, just a desire to joyfully sing unto the Lord.

SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY DAY A heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people that helped make Heroes Unmasked a success. The outpouring of help was just amazing. I thank you and our kids thank you! Karen P.

MIDWEEK If you are planning on attending midweek classes this year, please let us know by signing the sheet in the narthex. We need an idea of how many to expect. Thanks.

A GUY RETREAT with fishing and camping will be Oct. 11-13. Please use the sign up sheet if you plan to attend this always wonderful time at the Beshears fishing pond.

PRAYER PARTNERS—ADULT/CHILD If you would like to be a prayer partner there are sign up sheets in the narthex. Kids, we need you to sign up, we have adults wanting to be your partner.

BEFORE BOTH SERVICES, on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, for about 15 minutes, Dr. Johns will introduce us to a variety of hymns and liturgies from our hymn book that we may not be familiar with. What a wonderful learning opportunity! We thank him for sharing this time with us.

THRIVENT MEETING Immanuel Lutheran Youth Building, Sept. 16 at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited.

MONDAY EVENING WORSHIP If you are unable to attend church on Sunday morning, there is another worship opportunity at 6:30 pm on Monday evenings. This is also a service with Holy Communion.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after each service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

FLOWER CHART If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart hanging on the wall next to the water fountain in the hallway. Simply write your name, phone number, and occasion with the pen provided.
