CONGRATULATIONS We congratulate Michael & Amber W. who were blessed with the gift of a baby boy on Saturday, Aug. 3. Colt Robert weighed 7 lbs., 7.3 oz. and was 20 1/4 ins. long. He is the grandson of Kathy S. and Allen S., and Bobby & Ellen W. His maternal great-grandparents are Bud & Ruby S. We pray for continued blessings for this family.

CELEBRATION AUG. 25, 4:30 PM There is a sign up sheet in the narthex to help give the Fellowship Committee an idea of what folks will provide on Sunday, Aug. 25, for Pastor & Gerry’s 20 year celebration here at GSLC. The choices are salad, chips, beans, or other. The brats, hamburgers and hot dogs will be furnished, along with the drinks, condiments, birthday cake and ice cream. Please make plans to attend and help us show Pastor & Gerry how much we appreciate them.
THRIVENT WORKSHOP Heart-to-Heart: As Your Parents Age Join this free workshop offered by Financial Associate Austin Rice on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7:00 pm. Pick up a flyer in the narthex for more information, and to see how to register.
MONDAY EVENING WORSHIP If you are unable to attend church on Sunday morning, there is another worship opportunity at 6:30 pm. on Monday evenings. This is also a service with Holy Communion.
ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after each service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.
PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.
FLOWER CHART If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart hanging on the wall next to the water fountain in the hallway. Simply write your name, phone number, and occasion with the pen provided.
