† SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY DAY Today, GSLC is celebrating Rally Day for the start of the new Sunday School year. There will be a Sunday School celebration which will include a joint trivia game for both the adults and the kids during the Sunday School hour. Following Sunday School there will be a church potluck with grilled hot dogs & hamburgers and drinks provided. Everyone is invited, please join us.
† SHEPHERD’S STRINGS The Shepherd’s Strings have started meeting on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am at the church. If you would be interested in joining them, please come on Tuesdays and check it out.
† SUNDAY SCHOOL NURSERY There is a new sheet downstairs hanging by the nursery classroom door for people to use to sign-up to help with our nursery Sunday School room. The materials and snacks are already in the room. If you would like to help out, please consider signing up.
† MUSIC COMMITTEE The Music Committee has been reinstated and is seeking music lovers, not just musicians, to contribute to the music ministry at GSLC. Anyone interested can contact either Sue Schwab or Karen Perkins.
† ALTAR GUILD The Altar Guild could use more people to assist them with Sunday morning Communion setup. If this is something that you would be able to help out with, please mention it to Janet Chambers or contact the church office, 358-1325. Many hands make light work.
† LUTHERAN STUDY BIBLES The Christian Ed Committee has heard some interest from a few of our Sunday School teachers and others interested in purchasing Lutheran Study Bibles. To help with the cost of the shipping and get a small discount, GSLC has ordered some Lutheran Study Bibles that we will be offering to the congregation for purchase. The cost of these Bibles will be $40.00. If you are interested in purchasing a Bible, please contact the church office, 358-1325.
† SUMMER QUARTER OFFERINGS The offerings from Adult Bible class/Sunday School and VBS for the summer quarter will be going to the Jasper County branch of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). CASA is a national organization that places individuals with foster children to guide and support them through the process of finding a permanent home. This is a joint community support effort with Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin.
† NURSERY/CRY ROOM Should your child become distressed or distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use. Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.
† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.
† ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.
