† IN OUR PRAYERS  Katherine R., recovering from surgery for a broken hip; Sue V., at St. Luke’s receiving rehab after a broken hip; Jack H., at St. Luke’s dealing with multiple health issues;  Kathy P., suffering health issues; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† GSLC FRIENDS BIBLE STUDY  Our Monday night group is following Heroes of Faith from CPH.  After ‘Driven Heroes’ with Timothy, Lydia and others, we studied ‘Quiet Heroes’ that included John, Mark, and Dorcas.  We’re getting ready to begin ‘Intrepid Heroes’ starting with Moses & Aaron. We’re a varied group and welcome you to join us at Karen Perkins’ home.  We start gathering around 6:30 pm for social time and snacks with Bible Study starting around 7:00 pm.  We have entertainment for kids and close each session with a brief lesson and prayer that includes them.

† YOUTH GROUP  The Youth Group is collecting small toys and items for Operation Christmas Child through the month of October.  Shoe boxes (and similarly sized boxes) are packed with a “wow” item like a doll or ball, other small gifts and toiletries, and a special note.  We are looking for items targeted at the following age groups: boys & girls aged 2-4, 5-9, & 10-14, along with shoe boxes to pack.  We cannot pack any liquids, used items, candy, aerosols, army men/costumes, knives/gun toys.  Check the October Newsletter for a list of suggested donation items.  A collection box will be placed outside the youth room and upstairs in the Narthex. If you would like to help the Youth pack boxes, we will be packing on Wednesday, November 13th from 6:30-7:30 pm.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL COMMUNITY SUPPORT  For the month of November GSLC is collecting ravioli and chicken noodle soup for Carthage Bright Futures.  Please make sure the cans are easy open with the tabs.  We prefer these small containers of ravioli as pictured but will also take the bigger cans as long as they are the easy open.  Please contact Nicole B., if you have any questions.

† MSSU CHAMBER SINGERS  The Carthage Musical Devotees will be hosting the MSSU Chamber Singers on Sunday, November 17, at 3:00 pm here at Good Shepherd.  Admission is free and there will be refreshments  afterwards.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM is scheduled for Sunday,  December 15, at 7:00 pm.  We will be working on the songs and speaking lines in the Sunday School opening during November.  We would really appreciate it if we could have as many students here at Sunday School as much as possible because it will make things run smoother in December for rehearsals.  Please encourage your children to get excited about this special opportunity to tell the story of Jesus’ birth to our church family!

† NURSERY/CRY ROOM  Should your child become distressed or distract others during the service, a furnished nursery/cry room is located in the narthex for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.
