Announcements — June 27, 2021

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Nolan P., Dustin & Melanie Perkin’s son, recovering from open heart surgery; Karen P., recovering from open heart surgery; Ruth B., recovering at home from surgery to remove a tumor on her voice box; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† VBS is scheduled for Sunday, July 25 – Thursday, July 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Student registration is NOW OPEN.  To receive a 2021 VBS T-shirt you must register by July 5.  Student registration pages are available in the Christian Education area outside the sanctuary if you prefer to complete a printed form.  You may also register at https://vbsmate.com/events/gslcarthage .  It’s also not too late to volunteer!  If you are interested in helping, you can also submit a Volunteer Form at the  website listed above.  We would love to have your help!!

† WORSHIP REMINDERS 

             Sermon note sheets (intended for the Confirmation students) can be found on the table by the sound booth.  

             We are now printing large print bulletins. 

               The rows in the back half of the sanctuary remain roped for those for whom spacing is a concern. 

       The offering plate is located at the back of the sanctuary. 

       If you would like to offer any feedback we would welcome it. 

† RECEPTION  This afternoon, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Purdy, MO is having a reception to celebrate Pastor Schnackenberg’s 50 years in the ministry.  It will be held at the church at 2:00 pm.

† TINY TOT SUNDAY SCHOOL is being offered the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month in the nursery classroom by Doug and Peggy Schnelle.  It is a 15 minute class to get the little ones used to coming to Sunday School.

† VBS BULLETIN BOARD  Believe it or not, VBS is right around the corner.  If you haven’t already marked your calendar, VBS is scheduled for Sunday, July 25 – Thursday, July 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Student registration is NOW OPEN, and we can’t wait to know who will be joining us for the fun this summer! † THANK YOU  As the song goes “He’s still working on me…”, God is still working in and on me and I am so very thankful!  I am also so thankful for my Good Shepherd friends and family.  There have been so many acts of love and kindness I can’t even list them all.  I still have a way to go but with God, my medical team, and my church family supporting me I’ll get there. ~Karen P.

† WORSHIP NOTES  We have returned to the practice of kneeling at the Communion rail for the Sacrament.  As always, if you choose to stand you certainly may.  We are printing large print bulletins. We are also offering the common communion cup.  The common cup has always been optional at our church and will continue to be.  If you would like to offer any feedback we would welcome it.
