† IN OUR PRAYERS  Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Ruth B., diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, placed on Hospice; Maggie C., recovering from COVID; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† I AM A CHURCH MEMBER  The Board of Elders recently finished working through the book, “I Am A Church Member”.  We found it to be a helpful resource for one who wants to grow and mature in their view of themselves    as a church member.  We did not make use of the “pledge” at the end of each chapter.  Use your own discretion there.  We are making the book available to whoever wants to read it.  The stack is on the table outside the nursery.

† FELLOWSHIP BINGO  Thanks to the Fellowship Committee for putting together BINGO last Sunday!  It was a well attended and everyone had an enjoyable time.

† HELPING WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES  For the next couple Sundays Good Shepherd will be collecting disinfectant wipes and tissues for Martin Luther School in Joplin to help with offsetting the cost of school supplies.  There is a collection box in the narthex.

† RALLY DAY-WE ARE THE CHURCH  Sunday School and  LWML will be joining forces for Rally Day 2022.  It will be held on Sunday, September 11 and will include Rally Day activities, an Italian lunch, and a dessert auction.  We would love for this event to be for everyone in the church, so please come and join our celebration!  

† RECRUITING SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS  We are in need of some more Sunday School teachers for the new Sunday School year.  Next Sunday, August 28, immediately following the service, there will be a Sunday School teachers’ meeting.  If you are interested in helping out with Sunday School in any way, please join us for the meeting!  Snacks will be provided.

† JR CONFIRMATION class will begin after Labor Day. It will start with a parent meeting on September 7, at 6:30 pm in the Conference Room.

† FELLOWSHIP BINGO  Come and join us today at 6:00 pm for a night of BINGO and fun.  There will be drinks and a taco bar! 

† TREATS  After the service today, LWML will be serving treats.  Be sure to stop by and enjoy the treats and fellowship.

† BABY SHOWER  There will be a baby shower for friends and family honoring Lacy Epperson in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, August 20 at 1:00 pm.  Church members are welcome to attend.

† RURAL WATER  The water line has been laid.  We are waiting for the water company to finish on their end before we can complete the connection.

† TREE OF LIFE VBS  Thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s VBS possible!  It takes a lot of help to put such a special event together and we really appreciate all the hard work.  This year’s VBS offering will be going to Lutheran Family and Children’s Services!   What a wonderful and enjoyable week it was learning about GOD’S PROMISE OF SALVATION!

† MEALS ON WHEELS   Thank you to all those who helped with the Over 60 Center meal delivery this past week.  What a great way to help support our local community!  

† KIDS KITS  There are kids kits available in the narthex again!  Please feel free to take them to use during church and then they can go home with you.
