† IN OUR PRAYERS  The B. Family, at the death of Ruth B.; Brian O., diagnosed with bone cancer; Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† BAPTISM  We rejoice with Jarrett & Lacy E. at the baptism of their son, Jace Scott E. and with Ashley & Logan P. at the baptism of their son, Hayes Matthew P., in the service this morning.  We ask God to bless these families always with His love and grace.

† USHERS NEEDED  If you would be interested in serving Good Shepherd as an Usher in 2023 please contact Dave Wacker.

† THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE  Be sure to join us this Wednesday, November 23, at 7:00 pm, for our Thanksgiving Eve Service with Holy Communion.

† ADVENT DEVOTIONALS  Christian Education purchased devotional books to share with the congregation this Advent season.  “This is My Son” devotional books are available in the Narthex on the table by the nursery.  Please take only one copy per family.

† MIDWEEK ADVENT SERVICES  As in recent years, Good Shepherd will provide midweek worship services at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm each Wednesday during Advent.  The first Advent service will be this Wednesday, November 30.  Please join us!

† TEASURER UPDATE  The estimated expenses for the remainder of the year are $28,500.  The weekly gifts needed to cover these expenses are $4,750.00.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM  will  be held the evening of    Sunday, December 18.  The first rehearsal is scheduled for today.  If you would like your children to participate please let us know.  You can do this by letting your child’s Sunday School teacher know, by contacting Becky C. (chaddb@carthagetigers.org) or you can contact the church office by phone at 358-1325 or email at goodshepherd@ecarthage.com.

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Brian O., diagnosed with bone cancer; Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Ruth B., diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, placed on Hospice; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† HOBO DINNER & TRUNK OR TREAT  Thanks to Donya M., Shawn P., and everyone who helped with and participated in the HOBO Dinner and Trunk or Treat event last Sunday.  It was a wonderful way to fellowship together!

† FINANCIAL UPDATE  As reported in the Newsletter, for the 9 months through September, expenses exceeded income resulting in a $6,586 deficit.  Thanks to generous giving in October, year to date income exceeds expenses resulting in a $306 surplus.  Our next hurdle will be the estimated $8,500 insurance premium for next year which will be due early in December.  This is in addition, of course, to our regular monthly expenses.

† 2023 OFFICERS  At last Sunday’s regular quarterly Voters’ Meeting the officers for the 2023 church year were elected.  These are the elected officers  for 2023:

Announcements — October 30, 2022

N OUR PRAYERS  Brian O., diagnosed with bone cancer; Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer;  Ruth Bozarth, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, placed on Hospice; Maggie C., recovering from COVID; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers. 

HOBO DINNER & TRUNK OR TREAT  The Fellowship Committee will be hosting  a Trunk or Treat in conjunction with the Hobo Dinner today starting at 5:00 pm.  Please come and join us for some fun and fellowship.  If you have questions please contact Donya M. 

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM   This year’s Christmas program will  be held the evening of Sunday, December 18.  The first rehearsal is scheduled for November 20.  We will start practicing songs during Sunday  School opening soon.  Parts will need to be assigned, so we would love to   know which children would like to be involved.  If you would like your children to participate please let us know as soon as possible.  You can do this by letting your child’s Sunday School teacher know, by contacting Becky Chadd (chaddb@carthagetigers.org) or you can contact the church office by phone at 358-1325 or email at goodshepherd@ecarthage.com. 

QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING  The regular quarterly Voters’ Meeting will      be held today right after the service.  Two important items of business during this meeting will be the election of officers and the approval of the budget for the 2023 church year.   

LWML FALL RALLY will be held next Saturday, Nov. 5, at St. Johns Lutheran, Purdy, starting at 10:00 am.
