† IN OUR PRAYERS  Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Ruth B., diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, placed on Hospice; Maggie C., recovering from COVID; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† RALLY DAY-WE ARE THE CHURCH  Please join us today for Rally Day 2022. It will happen downstairs and will include Rally Day activities, trivia, an Italian lunch, and a dessert auction.  We would love to have everyone join in the celebration!  

† TIME & TALENT SURVEY  We have distributed Time & Talent surveys this morning to be filled out when you have the time. There is a black tray on the round table in the narthex to collect the survey’s when completed.  More  surveys are located by the sound booth and we will make them available until we stop collecting them October 16.

† CROSSLINES OF CARTHAGE  For September and October Good Shepherd will   be collecting again for Crosslines of Carthage.  There will be a container in the narthex available for you to place non-perishable food items.  They would also accept monetary donations if you would prefer to donate that way.  Monetary donations can be placed in the offering plate in an envelope marked Crosslines or they can be given to the church office.

† I AM A CHURCH MEMBER  The Board of Elders recently finished working through the book, “I Am A Church Member”.  We found it to be a helpful resource for one who wants to grow and mature in their view of themselves    as a church member.  We did not make use of the “pledge” at the end of each chapter.  Use your own discretion there.  We are making the book available to whoever wants to read it.  The stack is on the table outside the nursery.

† MEALS ON WHEELS  Good Shepherd’s turn to deliver meals will be the week of September 19.  If you would like to help with this or have questions please contact Sandy D.

† I AM A CHURCH MEMBER  The Board of Elders recently finished working through the book, “I Am A Church Member”.  We found it to be a helpful resource for one who wants to grow and mature in their view of themselves    as a church member.  We did not make use of the “pledge” at the end of each chapter.  Use your own discretion there.  We are making the book available to whoever wants to read it.  The stack is on the table outside the nursery.

† HELPING WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES  Good Shepherd is collecting disinfectant wipes and tissues for Martin Luther School in Joplin to help with offsetting the cost of school supplies.  There is a collection box in the narthex.

† JR CONFIRMATION CLASS begins this week with a parent meeting Wednesday, September 7, at 6:30 pm in the Conference Room.

† BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION  The Moll family would like to invite you to come and celebrate Karen’s birthday this Saturday, September 10, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm in the church Fellowship Hall.  It will be come and go.

† FELLOWSHIP BINGO  Thanks to the Fellowship Committee for putting together BINGO last Sunday!  It was a well attended and everyone had an enjoyable time.

† FELLOWSHIP BINGO  Come and join us today at 6:00 pm for a night of BINGO and fun.  There will be drinks and a taco bar! 

† TREATS  After the service today, LWML will be serving treats.  Be sure to stop by and enjoy the treats and fellowship.

† BABY SHOWER  There will be a baby shower for friends and family honoring Lacy Epperson in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, August 20 at 1:00 pm.  Church members are welcome to attend.

† RURAL WATER  The water line has been laid.  We are waiting for the water company to finish on their end before we can complete the connection.
