† IN OUR PRAYERS  Ruby S., recovering from knee replacement surgery; Cindy E., continuing her recovery at home; Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† EMMANUEL A SAVIOR FOR YOU & ME  Please make sure to join us for the  Sunday School Christmas program this evening at 6:00 pm to hear the children tell the story of our Savior’s birth.  There will be refreshments following the  program in the narthex.

† MIDWEEK ADVENT SERVICES  As in recent years, Good Shepherd will provide midweek worship services at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm each Wednesday during Advent.  The last Advent service will be this Wednesday, December 20.  Please join us!

† SPECIAL SERVICES

7:00 pm Sunday, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service with Holy Communion.

9:00 am Monday, Christmas Day Worship Service with Holy Communion.

† POINSETTIAS  Thanks to everyone who helped make the altar beautiful this morning by purchasing poinsettias.

† TREASURER NOTE  With our final remaining 3 Sundays we need $5,500 each week to cover this year’s expenses.

† OFFERING ENVELOPES  The 2024 offering envelopes are on the round table in the narthex.  Please remember to discard your 2023 envelopes and use only the 2024 envelopes beginning on Sunday, January 7.  If you do not see your name and want envelopes, please contact the church office.

† PORTALS OF PRAYER  The new Portals of Prayer for the winter are on the table by the nursery in the narthex.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM will be held next Sunday, December 17, at 6:00 pm.  We are rehearsing during the Sunday school hour.  Please make sure to join us that evening to hear the children tell the story of our Savior’s birth.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM will be held the evening of Sunday, December 17.  We are rehearsing during the Sunday school hour.  If you would like your children to participate please have them join us today.

† LWML CHRISTMAS PARTY The LWML will be going Christmas Caroling to some of our church members this Tuesday, December 5. This will be their Christmas party this year. It will start at 5:00 pm at the church and end with dinner at Taste of Italy in Carthage. All ladies are welcome to join us!

† POINSETTIAS If you would like to purchase a poinsettia(s) to help adorn the sanctuary at Christmas, please use the sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex and prepay Diana E. The cost is $10.00 each.

† TREASURER NOTE For the eleven months ended November, our expenses totaled $199,388 and our income totaled $205,823 leaving us with a surplus of $6,435. Our December challenges include the insurance premium for 2024 which is due middle of the month and completing our District Support goal of $5,000, of which we have $3,000 still outstanding.
