SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL There is a volunteer sheet in the narthex to tach Summer Sunday School, which begins June 7th. You choose which and how many dates you teach. All school age children will meet as one unit in the Youth Trailer. Pre-schoolers will continue to meet in their rooms in the Fellowship Hall.

SENIOR HIGH YOUTH GATHERING  The District Senior High Youth Gathering will be held June 26-28, 2009, at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.  The theme this year is, Hearts on Fire…Created 2 Serve.  This event is open to youth who will be entering the 9^th grade this fall and above.  Please see Cheryl M., Justin M., or Keith Z. for registration forms or with questions.  Registration forms are due May 31^st.

SOFTBALL THIS WEEK  The men’s team will play Tuesday evening at 6:30  and the co-ed team will play Friday evening at 7:30.  

VBS, JULY 6-10  Sign up sheets are in the narthex for both the children and the volunteers.  Please contact Nicole B, with any questions. The theme for this year’s VBS is Crocodile Dock, and will be July 6-10, from 5:30-8:30 pm.

RELAY FOR LIFE Shelby B., Emily M., Lora S., and Corinne W. are participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and invite anyone that would like to support the cause to do so. Each are accepting donations: selling moons to remember those who have passed away, stars to honor survivors, and luminary bas in honor of loved ones. The public is invited to attend the event, scheduled to start at noon on Sat., June 6, at Carthage Central Park. There will be food, fun, games & a silent auction — something for everyone! Come out to the park and join us!

TAPES OF THE SERVICE  Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.  They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.  Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

NURSERY  A staffed nursery for small children is available downstairs during the late service.  Should your child become distressed or distract others during the early service, the furnished nursery is downstairs for your use.  Please ask one of the ushers if you need directions.

BLOOD PRESSURE  After each service, at the table in the narthex, you have the opportunity to have your blood pressure taken.  You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.

JR CONFIRMATION CLASS will have their last class this Wednesday evening at 6:30 with a review of this year’s lessons.  You are welcome to attend.  After the review, the class will be fitted for their confirmation robes.  

JR CONFIRMATION NEXT SUNDAY  Seven young folks will publicly confess their faith next Sunday during the late service.

CEMETERY BLESSING  After the late service next Sunday, we will meet at the church cemetery for a service of blessing for the cemetery.  A map of its location is located on the bulletin board in the narthex.

LWML SPRING RALLY “Renew, Rejoice, Reach Out” The LWML Spring Rally is at 3:00 pm today at St. Andrew Church, Stockton. All ladies are encouraged to attend. Please let Mary know if you plan to attend and would like a ride. We will meet at the church at 1:15 this afternoon to carpool.

MEN’S CAMPING RETREAT The guys are going camping the weekend of May 15-17. How about joining them on the river? Pack your tent, or bring your RV, and join in the fellowship, worship, and fun. They are trying out a new camping spot this year. It’s on the Elk River at the River Ranch Resort in Noel, MO. There’s lots of activities available: canoeing, fishing, miniature golf, etc. Don’t have a tent or RV? Don’t worry, there’s room. Any questions? Talk with Sonny E.,  Sign up sheet is in the narthex. Total cost will probably be around $30.00.
