† IN OUR PRAYERS  Janet C., recovering from a car accident; Chester and Charlene S., Blane’s Grandparents, recovering at home from various illnesses; Ron & Beth T., struggling with the damage to their house after  the recent tornado; Jim B. undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Stephen  Ministry and their care receivers.

† THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!  From the donated items and financial support to all those who volunteered so much of their time, this congregation continues to be amazing!  This week at VBS God blessed us with   a great opportunity to share His abundant and overflowing grace with a wonderful group of kids.  Your generous giving made it all possible, and we are so grateful.

† SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL  Make sure to Join us today for Summer Sunday School.  We are continuing a fun summer of games, challenges, prizes, and crafting as we study the fruits of the Spirit during the Sunday School hour.

† SUMMER OFFERING  The offerings from VBS and Summer Adult Bible Class & Sunday School will be donated to support Higher Power Garage, a Joplin-based organization.  It has a mission to ‘provide safe and reliable transportation to those in need.’  Higher Power Garage works to ‘shine God’s light and be an example of His love through the repairs they provide.

† CELEBRATE THE SAVIOR VBS starts today and run through Thursday.  It will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 pm each evening.  There will be a dinner served each evening at 5:00 pm.  Also, please plan to join us for our VBS Kick-off celebration today 4:00 pm.  There will be fun carnival games and activities to get VBS off to a fun start.  Children are invited to participate in the worship service held at 9:00 am next Sunday, July 28, when they will share with the congregation some of what they learned during their exciting week.  It is going to be a wonderful week of learning and sharing God’s love! † EVOLUTION IS UNREASONABLE  The Adult Bible Class is currently looking at the topic of Creation/Evolution with an eye toward dispelling the commonly assumed belief that evolution is a logical point of view when it comes to the origins of the universe.

† SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL  Make sure to Join us today for Summer Sunday School.  We are having a fun summer of games, challenges, prizes, and crafting as we study the fruits of the Spirit during the Sunday School hour.

† THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS will not meet this coming Thursday.

† ST JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Purdy, MO, is having a church picnic this     Friday, July 19, at 6:00 pm.  There will be bratwurst, hamburgers, pie, and ice cream.  Activities will include old time games, bingo, a quilt raffle, and horse drawn wagon rides.  Please consider coming out to enjoy the fun.

† POTLUCK  Thank you to the Fellowship Committee for the fun Fifth Sunday Potluck last Sunday.

† TREASURER NOTE  For the six months ended this June, our paid expenses totaled $117,046 while our income totaled $111,935, leaving us with a deficit of $5,111.
