† IN OUR PRAYERS  Diana E., diagnosed with breast cancer; Chester and  Charlene S., Blane’s Grandparents, recovering at home from various illnesses but improving; Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† NEW MEMBER WELCOME  Good Shepherd is welcoming a new member to our congregation this morning, Cory H.  It is great to have him join our church family.

† FLU SHOTS  Lacy E. will be giving Flu shots after the service on Sunday, September 29.  If you would like one, please use the sign up sheet on the round table in the Narthex.

† 5TH SUNDAY POTLUCK AND BINGO  The Fellowship Committee is encouraging everyone to join us on Sunday, September 29 for a 5th Sunday Potluck followed by BINGO!  This will be held following Sunday School and Adult Bible Class.

† THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the school donations for Immanuel Lutheran School in Lockwood.  They are greatly appreciated!

† RALLY DAY/PIE AUCTION  Thanks to everyone who helped organize all the Rally Day activities.  What a fun way to kick off the new Sunday School year!

† MEALS ON WHEELS  Good Shepherd’s next turn to deliver meals will be this Wednesday, September 25.  If you would like to help with this or have questions please contact Sandy D.

† JR CONFIRMATION  Jr. Confirmation class for students in 7th and 8th grade  began this month.  It is held each Wednesday at 6:45 pm in the Conference Room.  Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanation will be provided to each new confirmand, but each student will need to bring their own Bible to class.

† RALLY DAY/PIE AUCTION  The annual Sunday School Rally Day and the LWML Pie Auction is happening today to kick off the new Sunday School year!  This includes a potluck sponsored by the LWML.  The 2024 Rally Day theme is “Donut” Worry, Jesus Loves You.  Please join us!!!

† JR CONFIRMATION  Jr. Confirmation class for students in 7th and 8th grade  began last week.  It is held each Wednesday at 6:45 pm in the Conference Room.  Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanation will be provided to each new confirmand, but each student will need to bring their own Bible to class.

† SCHOOL SUPPLY DONATION  For the next few Sundays, Good Shepherd will be collecting school supplies for Immanuel Lutheran School in Lockwood.  The items that would be most helpful include Expo erasers & markers, tissues, paper clips, staples, disinfectant wipes, Crayola water colors, college ruled notebooks, college & wide ruled loose leaf paper, multi colored cardstock paper, AA & AAA batteries, and $5-$10 gift card for teacher rewards.  There is a collection box in the narthex.

† ESTATE PLANNING  St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett is hosting a session on estate planning on Wednesday, September 18 at 7:00 pm.  If you are interested, please RSVP to Paster Kennell (text: 816-507-2193) by September 15.

† RALLY DAY/PIE AUCTION  The annual Sunday School Rally Day and the LWML Pie Auction will be held next Sunday to kick off the new Sunday School year!  This will include a potluck sponsored by the LWML.  LWML plans to provide the meat dishes and encourages everyone to come and join us and bring a side to share.  The 2024 Rally Day theme will be “Donut” Worry, Jesus Loves You.  There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for people who would like to donate a dozen donuts for Rally Day.

† TREASURER NOTE  For the eight months ended this August, our paid expenses totaled $161,240 while our income totaled $149,163 leaving us a deficit of $12,077.
