Announcements — March 3, 2023

† IN OUR PRAYERS  Cindy E., continuing her recovery; Jim B., undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer; Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.

† LENT started in February.  We will have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm throughout Lent. Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† MEALS ON WHEELS  Good Shepherd’s turn to deliver meals will be Wednesday, March 6.  If you would like to help with this or have questions please contact Sandy D.

† ST PATRICK’S DAY DINNER  Mark your calendar, Good Shepherd will be having a St. Patrick’s Day Pot Luck on Sunday, March 17.

† TREASURER NOTE  For the first two month of 2024, our paid expenses totaled $41,297 while our income totaled $39,697 leaving us a deficit of $1,600. 

† GSLC FRIENDS BIBLE STUDY  Beginning March 4 class will be starting at 6:30 pm  sharp.  We are starting a study/discussion of The Chosen developed by an LCMS pastor in Lincoln Nebraska.  Each session is about 90 minutes.  If you would like more information you can contact Karen Perkins.

† EASTER EGGS  We will be filling plastic eggs for the Sunday School Children.  Christian Education is asking the congregation for donations of rolls of nickels/dimes, small prizes, or bags of individually wrapped candy to fill the eggs.  Your donations can be placed in the container provided in the church office.  Thanks for your help with this project!

† LENT started in February.  We will have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm throughout Lent. Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN will be singing in the service next Sunday, March 3.  They enjoy sharing what they have been working on with our church family.

† MEALS ON WHEELS  Good Shepherd’s turn to deliver meals will be  Wednesday, March 6.  If you would like to help with this or have questions please contact Sandy D.

† MEAL TRAIN  Cory H. has had several setbacks in his recovery from an appendectomy requiring hospitalization again this last week. Due to allergy  concerns we are forgoing a meal train and starting a gift card collection for them instead. Gift cards to gas stations, Natural Grocers in Joplin, or Walmart would all be helpful for their family at this time. If you would like to help you can give these to Megan or Pastor to get to them or mail/email them directly to the Hylands: Khyland23@gmail.com.

† NEW MEMBER WELCOME  Good Shepherd is welcoming some new members to our congregation this morning, David & Lauren C.  It is great to have them join our church family.

† LENT started last Wednesday.  We will have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm throughout Lent. Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.

† NEW MEMBER WELCOME  Good Shepherd is welcoming some new families to our congregation this morning, Rick Harms, Jeremy, Kelli, Olivia, Ezra, & Ariella S., and Ron & Beth T..  It is great to have them join our church family.

† LENT starts this Wednesday, February 14, with our Ash Wednesday services. We will once again have weekday services each Wednesday at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm throughout Lent. Be sure and utilize these services as part of your Lenten observance.
