CELEBRATION AUG. 25, 4:30 PM There is a sign up sheet in the narthex to help give the Fellowship Committee an idea of what folks are providing next Sunday, Aug. 25, for Pastor & Gerry’s 20 year celebration here at GSLC. The choices are salad, chips, beans, or other. The brats, hamburgers and hot dogs will be furnished, along with the drinks, condiments, birthday cake and ice cream. Please make plans to attend and help us show Pastor & Gerry how much we appreciate them.

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY We continue to take pictures for our new congregational pictorial directory. New days have been added, so please make sure to sign up if you haven’t already done so. They are: Thursday, Aug. 22, from 6:00-9:00 pm, and next Sunday, Aug. 25, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. See the sign up sheets on the table in the narthex.

YOUTH GROUP PLANNING A planning meeting for the Youth Group is scheduled for Sunday evening, September 1, at 6:00. Parents are also invited to this meeting to decide on meeting times and activities for the rest of the year.

THRIVENT WORKSHOP Heart-to-Heart: As Your Parents Age Join this free workshop offered by Financial Associate Austin Rice on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7:00 pm. Pick up a flyer in the narthex for more information, and to see how to register.

MONDAY EVENING WORSHIP If you are unable to attend church on Sunday morning, there is another worship opportunity at 6:30 pm on Monday evenings. This is also a service with Holy Communion.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after each service. You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace. We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.

FLOWER CHART If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart hanging on the wall next to the water fountain in the hallway. Simply write your name, phone number, and occasion with the pen provided.

CONGRATULATIONS We congratulate Michael & Amber W. who were blessed with the gift of a baby boy on Saturday, Aug. 3. Colt Robert weighed 7 lbs., 7.3 oz. and was 20 1/4 ins. long. He is the grandson of Kathy S. and Allen S., and Bobby & Ellen W. His maternal great-grandparents are Bud & Ruby S. We pray for continued blessings for this family.

SPECIAL MUSIC MEETING today after Sunday School.

LWML meets this Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All ladies of the congregation are invited to attend.

OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS will gather in the Fellowship Hall this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. for games, food, fellowship, and fun.

YOUTH SWIM PARTY The Youth Group have been invited to a Swim Party with lunch at the Wacker home next Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Call Lacy R., or Lora W., to RSVP.

CROSSLINES SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST On the round table in the narthex is a list of school supplies that Crosslines is asking for to help fill the needs of school children whose families need support. Please place your donations in the round bin in the narthex, or in the shopping cart downstairs by the fellowship hall doors. Thank you, your help is always very appreciated!

VBS/KINGDOM ROCK “WHERE KIDS STAND STRONG FOR GOD” was a huge success. We thank EVERYONE who helped make it happen!

VOTERS’ MEETING This evening at 7:00 the voters will meet to discuss and vote on church matters. Along with other business, the voters’ assembly will decide to either stay with one service or return to two worship services in the fall. All GSLC members, 18 years and older, are eligible to be a part of the voters’ assembly.
