† IN OUR PRAYERS  Savanna J., undergoing tests; Fern H., at Webb City Health and Rehab; Mike D., Tim S., Lois H. (Pastor and Mary’s sister), Andrea H. (Joann W.’s mother), and Paula B., undergoing treatment for cancer.

† LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP (LYF) will meet this evening at the church at 6:00 pm.  Much is on the agenda so please plan on being here.

† 70 AND OVER DINNER  The youth group will be serving a four-course meal to those in our congregation who are 70 years of age (four score and ten) and older Sunday evening, March 9, at 5:00.  It is one way our youth wish to show their appreciation for these seasoned congregational members.  More details later, but mark your calendars now for this wonderful evening.

† AN USHER INSTRUCTIONAL/RECOGNITIONAL MEETING will be held on this Monday, February 24, at 6:30 pm.  If you are an usher this year, please plan to attend.  We need your expertise and ideas.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL  Are you interested in teaching a Sunday School class?  Do you want to be a substitute Sunday School teacher?  The Christian Education Committee is always looking for more help.  If you are interested, there is a sign up sheet posted on the Christian Education bulletin board in the narthex to the left of the elevator.

† MUSIC MEETING next Sunday after the late service.

† GIDEON PRESENTATION  Chris Hodgson will be here today to give a short report after both services.  There will be an offering taken at the door to support their mission.

† SEMINAR  The Rev. Dr. Charles Gieschen, Professor of Exegetical Theology and Academic Dean, at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN, will be exploring the manifestations of the pre-incarnate Son of God in the Old Testament, a subject that he has studied extensively for the past 25 years.  He will be speaking and answering questions at Grace Lutheran Church, 210 Poplar, Lamar, MO, on March 1-2.  For more information you may call Rev. † FLOWER CHART  If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart hanging on the wall next to the water fountain in the hallway.  Simply write your name, phone number, and occasion with the pen provided.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.  

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office after each service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

† THE ANNUAL LADIES’ NIGHT OUT DINNER begins at 5:00 pm today.  Ladies, the men will be serving us, so come prepared for a nice dinner along with entertainment provided by Duke Mason.  Bring your favorite dessert to add to the famous dessert buffet.  Childcare will be available for the kids with dinner provided.  There will be an offering collected for Duke Mason.

† THANK YOU, THANK YOU!  Nan B. would like to say a special thank you to everyone who participated in the “Souper” Bowl can drive for Crosslines of Carthage.  After all the donations were tallied, Good Shepherd ended up donating a total of 626 items!  Wow, what a SUPER success it was!

† VALENTINE BAKE SALE  The LWML Valentine bake sale is today in the narthex after both services.  Proceeds will help offset convention costs, among other things.  Be sure to check out the delicious goodies!

† THE LADIES’ NIGHT OUT DINNER will be held on Sunday, February 16, at 5:00 pm.  Ladies, the men will be serving us, so come prepared for a nice dinner along with entertainment.  Bring your favorite dessert to add to the famous dessert buffet.  Childcare will be available for the kids with dinner provided.   Please use the sign up sheet in the narthex, or call the church office, 358-1325, if you plan to attend, so we will know how much food to prepare.

† OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS meet this Thursday at 6:00 for food, fellowship and games.  You are welcome to join this informal group for an evening of fun and laughter. 

† IT WAS A SUPER “SOUPER” MONTH!  Starting in January through February 2, Souper Bowl Sunday, Good Shepherd donated 466 items to Crosslines of Carthage.  What a SUPER success it was!  Thank you for all your help in supporting this worthy cause!

† SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY  It is Super Bowl Sunday, or as we’ve been calling it, “Souper” Bowl Sunday.  Thanks to all those who have helped collect canned soup, dried beans and rice to help fill the shelves at Crosslines of Carthage.

† LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP (LYF) will not be meeting tonight.  The meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 9, at 6:00 pm.

† THE LADIES’ NIGHT OUT DINNER will be held on Sunday, February 16, at 5:00 pm.  Ladies, the men will be serving us, so come prepared for a nice dinner along with entertainment.  Bring your favorite dessert to add to the famous dessert buffet.  Childcare will be available for the kids with dinner provided.   Please use the sign up sheet in the narthex, or call the church office, 358-1325, if you plan to attend, so we will know how much food to prepare.
