† WELCOME BACK  It is so good to have Pastor and Gerry back from vacation.  Sounds like they had a wonderful and relaxing time!

† VETERANS DAY is November 11 and we remember with gratitude all our veterans this morning by singing Eternal Father, Strong to Save, LSB # 717.  Without the willingness of our veterans to serve our country in the armed forces, we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today.  To all those who have served our country we say, Thank you, and ask God to bless you.

† A VOTERS’ MEETING will be held tonight at 7:00 pm.  There will be several important issues on the agenda including the election of officers and approving the 2015 budget.  All confirmed members, age 18 and over, are eligible to be a part of the Voters’ Assembly.

† CHRISTMAS CHOIR!  Help us make a joyful noise in honor of our Lord’s birth.  Rehearsals will directly follow the late service.  No need to be a soloist, join others and have fun.  Rehearsals begin today following the late service.  Due to short notice, if you can’t make today, see you next week!

† BRASS ENSEMBLE  Attention all brass instrumentalists:  Please let John Nicholas or Linda Danner know if you are interested and available to play in a brass ensemble for the upcoming Advent and Christmas season services.  We are especially in need of low brass  instruments.

† LWML PIE BAKE SALE TODAY  Check out the variety of pies being offered by our LWML in the narthex.  The proceeds will help fund future LWML projects and missions.

† MO DISTRICT PASTORAL CONFERENCE  Pastor will be    attending the MO District Pastoral Conference Tuesday-Thursday this week.  All classes will continue to meet as usual while he is away.

† LUTHERAN YOUTH FELLOWSHIP will meet at the church this evening at 6:00 pm to plan their next activity, which will be a bonfire and trip to the spook light on Sunday, November 16.

† GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP  Several people have approached both Pastor and Earl with the care in their hearts for those who have recently experienced the loss of a deeply loved family member.  We have been discussing the possibility of forming a group for individuals who could benefit from such a tool in their coping with grief.  Let Earl Kirn know if you are interested in such a group and of any thoughts that you have about this idea.

† BEST CHOICE LABELS  Please remember to save your Best Choice UPC labels and place them in the provided containers at church.  There is an envelope downstairs in the kitchen and a container upstairs in the narthex for them.  Lenora L. would like to  collect 500 more labels by the end of the year!  Thanks for your help!

† THRIVENT CHAPTER NEWS  Our region will be transitioning from the Chapter System to the Thrivent Network System effective July 1, 2015 (the chapter will be eliminated).  In the past, we have been required to hold elections for the chapter board.  With this transition happening next year, and if the same President, Financial Director, Records Director continue in their positions, we are not required to hold elections for next year’s board.  Since we meet that requirement, the chapter board decided not to hold elections.  Also, Glenn Moll was appointed to the board as a “member at large”.  We still have other openings on the board, so if anyone would like to serve, please let Daryl Weinkein know at 499-3119.

† SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ REQUEST  Our Sunday School teachers are interested in having a printer/copier downstairs available for making copies of their material and printing out other resources.  Since the current budget doesn’t allow for such a purchase, it was suggested that we ask the congregation members if anyone had one that they would be willing to donate.  Please contact Earl Kirn or Karen Perkins if you would be willing to help with this need!

† ASSISTIVE LISTENING  If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.  They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.

† BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS are available in the nurse’s office   after the service.  You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.

† PRAYER BEARS are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex by nursery) and given to anyone that needs God’s love, comfort, and peace.
