CONGREGATIONAL DINNER<\/strong>\u00a0 Please join us today, at noon, for a congregational dinner as part of our Rally Day celebration.\u00a0 The meat is being provided by the Fellowship Committee, smoked chicken,\u00a0and side dishes by members.\u00a0 With all the good food and fellowship you don\u2019t want to miss it!<\/p>\n

SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY DAY<\/strong> is today.\u00a0 Parents, be sure to join your children for Sunday School, enjoy a treat, and watch the beautiful, always anticipated, balloon launch.<\/p>\n

SOFTBALL GAMES<\/strong>\u00a0 The Co-Ed team will play Monday evening at 7:30 and the Men\u2019s team will play Tuesday at 8:30 pm.<\/p>\n

JR CONFIRMATION<\/strong> will begin this Wednesday evening, September 16th, at 6:30.\u00a0 Pastor will meet with students and parents after both worship services today to discuss the class schedule and to answer any questions.<\/p>\n

MOUNTAIN DULCIMER DEMONSTRATION<\/strong> and beginner class will be held September 16th from 7:00-8:00 pm here at Good Shepherd.\u00a0 Elaine Smith, the 2004 Southern Regional Champion, will be the instructor.\u00a0 For more information, contact Lee Ann B.\u00a0 Lee Ann assures us that no special musical talent is required, and that anyone can learn to play the dulcimer.<\/p>\n

THE ELDERS<\/strong> meeting is Monday evening, Sept. 21st, at 7:00, not the 14th as stated on the newsletter calendar.\u00a0<\/p>\n

GOLF ANYONE?<\/strong>\u00a0 Do you golf?\u00a0 Have you always wanted to give it a try?\u00a0 Here\u2019s your chance.\u00a0 Open to all and everyone.\u00a0 Immanuel at Joplin has invited us to play golf with them on Saturday, Sept. 19th.\u00a0 The two or four person scramble will take place at the Carthage Municipal Course.\u00a0 All of the plans have not yet been finalized.\u00a0 Gene L., is the go-to-guy here at Good Shepherd, if you have any questions.\u00a0 A sign-up sheet is in the narthex.<\/p>\n

WOMEN\u2019S BIBLE STUDY<\/strong>\u00a0 How can studying the life of David help us in our lives today?\u00a0 We are about to find out in a ladies bible study entitled, Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed.\u00a0 This class\u00a0will meet for seven weeks with prayer, fellowship, and a DVD session covering the life and reign of David.\u00a0 Not only will we get\u00a0a deeper understanding of this great man and his relationship with the Lord, but we will also hopefully gain a deeper relationship with God and each other.\u00a0 Sign up in the narthex\u2014cost is $15.00 for the workbooks.\u00a0 We have tentatively planned on meeting Tuesday nights beginning on Sept. 22nd, here at the church.\u00a0 Call Lora S. for more information.\u00a0<\/p>\n

THURSDAY AM BIBLE STUDY<\/strong> has decided not to meet through the month of September.\u00a0 They will resume their study of the Book of Romans on the first Thursday in October.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

MEN\u2019S RETREAT<\/strong>\u00a0 October 9th & 10th\u00a0 are the dates planned for a Men\u2019s Retreat at Pelican Landing in Oklahoma.\u00a0 The cost is $15.00, plus the cost of the food.\u00a0 There is a sign up sheet in the narthex, and if you have any questions, contact Sonny E.<\/p>\n

PARENTS, WE\u2019RE CHECKING OUR RECORDS<\/strong>\u00a0 It\u2019s been several years since we\u2019ve checked and updated the school records for all the children in the congregation.\u00a0 Parents, please take the time to fill out, one for each child, the information form Children\u2019s Ministry, found in the narthex.\u00a0 Drop it in the basket provided or leave it in the church office.\u00a0 Thanks.\u00a0<\/p>\n
