Marla S., and his great-grandmother is Linda S.\u00a0 May the Lord bless both mother and child.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MUSIC MEETING<\/strong>\u00a0 Today at noon there is a meeting for all those interested in enhancing our worship with spiritual music.\u00a0 Those encouraged to attend are: musicians, technicians, schedulers, vocalists, enthusiasts, and instrumentalists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VOTERS\u2019 MEETING<\/strong>\u00a0 The Voters\u2019 Assembly will meet this evening at 7:00.\u00a0 Items on the agenda are the election of officers and the approval of the budget for 2013.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU\u2019RE INVITED<\/strong>\u00a0 The Musical Devotees of Carthage are sponsoring a concert this afternoon at 3:00 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, Carthage.\u00a0 Organ music will be by Mary Ann Andrews and Sara Buelow, vocal by Katie Crigger and Katrina Buelow, and the trumpeter will be Keith Garber.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>THRIVENT BOARD MEETING<\/strong>\u00a0 There will be a board meeting on Monday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 pm, at the Youth Building at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Joplin.\u00a0 Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Lutheran Women's Missionary League\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lwml.org\" target=\"_blank\">LWML<\/a> FUNDRAISER-DOLLARS FOR MISSIONS QUILT<\/strong>\u00a0 And the quilt goes to: Gerry Schnackenberg.\u00a0 Congratulations, Gerry!\u00a0 She was informed by text messaging, while somewhere in Colorado, that her name had been drawn and that she was the proud owner of the hand made quilt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHURCH WORK DAY<\/strong>\u00a0 Saturday, Nov. 17, 9:00 am\u201412:00 noon, has been designated by the board of trustees as a work day (morning) here at the church.\u00a0 There are a number of small jobs that need attention, and the more folks that are willing to help the faster it will all get done.\u00a0 Everyone is guaranteed to be assigned a task!<\/p>\n<p><strong>LWML BAKE SALE<\/strong>\u00a0 Next Sunday, after both services, the LWML will be offering baked goods and other special treats for sale.\u00a0 All proceeds will be used for mission projects.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL CHORAL PRESENTATION<\/strong>\u00a0 The Fort Hayes Singers, a top choral group from Fort Hayes State University, Hays, Kansas, will be here next Sunday for a free concert, beginning at 7:30 pm.\u00a0 It will be a great night of music, so bring your friends!\u00a0 The group will be spending the night with us&#8230;please make them feel welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CD\u2019S AND TAPES OF THE SERVICE<\/strong>\u00a0 Audio tapes and CD\u2019s of the service are available after the service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS<\/strong> are available in the narthex after the service.\u00a0 You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.\u00a0 We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IN OUR PRAYERS\u00a0 Karen P., having back surgery on Friday;
