Gary Asmus.\u00a0 He is a retired pastor, and he and his wife, Lorraine, live in Joplin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NEXT SUNDAY<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Hayrides-Hobo Supper-Harvest Party\u00a0 We will start \u201cmaking\u201d the stew around 5:00 pm.\u00a0 Bring some of your own pre-cooked stew or cooked vegetables or meat to toss in the big black pot on the open fire.\u00a0 Hayrides will start at 5:30 pm and will be held at Jack H.\u2019s home, which is 2 miles west of the church on Hwy 96, house on the right.\u00a0 By the time the hayrides are over, the stew should be hot and ready to dish up.\u00a0 It is always so good!\u00a0 Yep, it\u2019s that time a\u2019 year agin fer ever\u2019one to put on yer Sunday worst, forget to shave n\u2019 comb out yer hair, and come to church to chow down on some a\u2019the best vittles (that\u2019s hobo talk for food) yuv ever tasted!\u00a0 Stew that\u2019s a mite better\u2019n Ma used to make!\u00a0 Along with all this fun, the children will be having a Harvest Party.\u00a0 They \u00a0can \u201cdress up\u201d in a \u201cfriendly\u201d costume if they want to.\u00a0 There will be games to play and special treats handed out. This is gonna be loads a\u2019 fun, and ya don\u2019t wanna miss it!\u00a0 Bring yer friends, \u00a0too, \u2018cause they\u2019re a\u2019 welcome!\u00a0 See ya\u2019ll here Sunday, October 28!<\/p>\n<p><strong>SIGN UP SHEET\u00a0<\/strong> There is a sign up sheet in the narthex, please sign if you can bring cheese &amp; crackers or pie for the Hobo Supper\/Harvest Party.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Lutheran Women's Missionary League\" href=\"http:\/\/gslc-carthage.dreamhosters.com\/?p=885\">LWML<\/a> FUNDRAISER-DOLLARS FOR MISSIONS\u00a0<\/strong> The LWML has a quilt that was donated it to us to raise money for our mission work. Your name along with a dollar donation will give you one (ten with a $5.00 donation) possibility of owning this beautiful quilt. Drawing for the quilt will be Nov. 6.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CD\u2019S AND TAPES OF THE SERVICE\u00a0<\/strong> Audio tapes and CD\u2019s of the service are available after the service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS<\/strong> are available in the narthex after the service.\u00a0 You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.\u00a0 We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IN OUR PRAYERS\u00a0 Don H., Jack H., undergoing treatment for cancer.
