VBS BIG SUCCESS<\/strong> We want to thank everyone who helped make this year\u2019s VBS a big success. \u00a0Approximately 45 kids attended Hero Headquarters each night. \u00a0The VBS kids and staff will give a special program today in the late service.<\/p>\n

UNITED IN MARRIAGE<\/strong> Elizabeth D. and Nathan D. were united in marriage yesterday afternoon at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Springfield, MO. \u00a0We congratulate them, and pray for the Lord to bless their life together as husband and wife. \u00a0The couple will make their home in Sarcoxie.<\/p>\n

NARTHEX FURNITURE<\/strong> Would you like to help with the purchase of some seating for the narthex? \u00a0Tentative plans are to have a sofa, loveseat, ottoman and side chairs. \u00a0The LWML<\/a> has a committee that is checking to find the best product for the best price. \u00a0If you would like to help with this project, please make note that you want your donation to go towards narthex furniture.<\/p>\n

BOARD OF EDUCATION<\/strong> will meet this evening at 6:00 before the Voters\u2019 Meeting. \u00a0Anyone interested, please feel free to attend.<\/p>\n

THE JULY VOTERS\u2019 MEETING<\/strong> is this evening at 7:00 pm. \u00a0Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n

CONSTITUTION CHANGE<\/strong> The church council has proposed the following changes to our constitution:<\/p>\n

Article VI, section C
\nThe Church Council shall annually prepare a list of at least six Special Projects, for the convenience of members wishing to make designated contributions and memorials. The list shall be presented to the voters, preferably in the January meeting of the Voters\u2019 Assembly, for their approval. \u00a0Items may be added to or removed from the Special Projects list by the Voters\u2019 Assembly at any regular meeting.<\/p>\n

Article VII, section D, 3
\nDonors of honorary gifts and undesignated memorials will be encouraged to\tdesignate their contribution to one of the Special Projects (see Article VI, section C),\tto another suitable charitable purpose, or to support the ongoing mission of the church. \u00a0The Financial Secretary shall make a formal record of the memorial or honorary gift, and shall extend all efforts to ascertain the donor\u2019s intentions for allocation. \u00a0If no designation is made within 60 days, the Financial Secretary shall classify the contribution as undesignated and assign it to the general operating funds of the congregation.<\/p>\n

THRIVENT MATCHING FUNDS<\/strong> If you would like to donate money for tornado relief to either Immanuel<\/a> or Peace Lutheran in Joplin, Thrivent will match $1.00 for each $3.00 raised. \u00a0You can give your donation through Good Shepherd, and we will see that it goes where you have designated it.<\/p>\n

ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong> If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. \u00a0They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/p>\n

TAPES OF THE SERVICE<\/strong> Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. \u00a0They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex. \u00a0Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.<\/p>\n

PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace. \u00a0We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.<\/p>\n

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS<\/strong> are available in the narthex after each service. \u00a0You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
