HERO HEADQUARTERS VBS PRE-REGISTRATION<\/strong> Kids, don\u2019t miss the exciting, challenging, super-fun VBS program coming up July 24-28. \u00a0Please pre-register this afternoon from 2:00-4:00. \u00a0There will be games to play and snacks to eat!<\/p>\n

POLYESTER DOUBLE KNIT<\/strong> material is needed to make capes for our heroes to wear at VBS. \u00a0Pieces need to be at least 24 inches long, and solid, darker colors are preferred. \u00a0Please bring to the church office as soon as possible. \u00a0Contact Gerry S. if you have any questions.<\/p>\n

NARTHEX FURNITURE<\/strong> Would you like to help with the purchase of some seating for the narthex? \u00a0Tentative plans are to have a sofa, loveseat, ottoman and side chairs. \u00a0The LWML<\/a> has a committee that is checking to find the best product for the best price. \u00a0If you would like to help with this project, please make note that you want your donation to go towards narthex furniture.<\/p>\n

YOUTH COOKOUT<\/strong> The youth group is having a cookout this Saturday evening with a youth group from Kansas City who is working in Joplin. \u00a0Please contact Corrine W. if you planning to attend and she will let you know how you can help.<\/p>\n

PERIODICALS AVAILABLE<\/strong> The July\u2014September edition of the Portals of Prayer and the LWML summer issue of the Quarterly are available in the narthex.<\/p>\n

THE CHURCH COUNCIL<\/strong> will meet this evening at 7:00. \u00a0All church officers are asked to attend.<\/p>\n

HOME & BABY SHOWER<\/strong> for Jordan K. and Baby E. will be held this Tuesday evening at 7:00. \u00a0Jordan is registered at Wal-Mart. \u00a0Hostesses are Janie O., Emma G. and Janet C. \u00a0Call Janet with any questions or if you need a ride.<\/p>\n

THRIVENT MATCHING FUNDS<\/strong> If you would like to donate money for tornado relief to either Immanuel<\/a> or Peace Lutheran in Joplin, Thrivent will match $1.00 for each $3.00 raised. \u00a0You can give your donation through Good Shepherd, and we will see that it goes where you have designated it.<\/p>\n

ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong> If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. \u00a0They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/p>\n

TAPES OF THE SERVICE<\/strong> Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. \u00a0They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex. \u00a0Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.<\/p>\n

PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace. \u00a0We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.<\/p>\n

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS<\/strong> are available in the narthex after each service. \u00a0You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
