ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE<\/strong> The season of Lent starts this week with an Ash Wednesday communion service at 7:00 pm. \u00a0We will also have the dispensation of ashes during the service for anyone wanting to participate. \u00a0The season of Lent, which will continue until Easter, has been a part of the church calendar for many, many years. \u00a0It is a time when we focus on the suffering and death of Jesus and ponder again what it means for our life and salvation.<\/div>\n
MIDWEEK LENTEN SERVICE<\/strong> We will be having midweek Lenten services on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 during the Lenten season. \u00a0Portions of the Passion story of Jesus will be read during each service.<\/div>\n
WEDNESDAY EVENING SCHEDULE DURING LENT<\/strong> Band Practice, 5:30 pm; Bible Study, 6:00 pm; Jr. Confirmation Class, 6:00 pm; Men\u2019s Ensemble Practice, 6:00 pm; Youth Group, 6:00 pm; Lenten Midweek Service, 7:00 pm.<\/div>\n
LENTEN DEVOTIONS ON LINE<\/strong> The Light Shines in the Darkness and the Journey Continues are Lenten devotions available on line through Lutheran Hour Ministries. \u00a0Each conveys the powerful message of this season in different ways. \u00a0These offerings can be read, printed, or downloaded at www.lentendevotions.net<\/a>.<\/div>\n
OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS<\/strong> will meet this Thursday evening at 6:00. \u00a0Come join the fun!<\/div>\n
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS<\/strong> Don\u2019t forget to set your clocks up one hour (spring forward) before retiring Saturday night, else you might be late for church come Sunday morning.<\/div>\n
MEAL DELIVERY<\/strong> It\u2019s our week to deliver meals for the Over-60 Center beginning tomorrow. \u00a0If you can help with this worthwhile project, please contact Betty E.<\/div>\n
LET\u2019S PLAY BALL<\/strong> It will soon be time for spring softball. \u00a0If you are interested in playing on either the men\u2019s or the co-ed church team (guys you\u2019re welcome to play on both), please write your name and phone number on the sign up sheet in the narthex. \u00a0Questions? \u00a0Talk with Bradley M.<\/div>\n
PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace. \u00a0We have had reports and words of thanks from folks being blessed by this outreach ministry.<\/div>\n
TAPES OF THE SERVICE<\/strong> Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. \u00a0They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex. \u00a0Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.<\/div>\n
ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong> If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. \u00a0They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/div>\n
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS<\/strong> are available in the narthex after each service. \u00a0You will be given a small form that can be carried in your wallet which will include medical information and a log of your blood pressure readings.<\/div>\n
