BAPTISM TODAY<\/strong>\u00a0 We rejoice with Andrew & Susan S. whose son, Matthew Jack S., will be baptized after the late service today.\u00a0 Matthew was born June 17, 2010 in Brisbane, Australia.\u00a0 His sponsors are Jennifer P. and Dean B.\u00a0 Susan is Jennifer\u2019s sister.\u00a0We pray to the Lord for continued blessings for Matthew and his family.<\/p>\n

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD<\/strong>\u00a0 Today is the last day to turn in your shoe box donation.\u00a0 If you didn\u2019t choose to fill a shoe box, you can still help by making a donation of $7.00 to cover the shipment cost.\u00a0 If you would like to make a monetary donation there is a basket on the table in the narthex for this use.\u00a0 Thank you for helping with this worthwhile project.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SECRET SISTER PROGRAM<\/strong>\u00a0 All ladies of the church are invited to participate in this ministry of caring and sharing with other sisters in Christ.\u00a0 The 2010 Secret Sister Reveal will be on Dec. 5, at the LWML<\/a> Christmas Holiday Event.\u00a0 We will also be drawing for our 2011 Sisters that evening.\u00a0 If you would like to be a part of this fun and spirit-lifting program, fill out the All About Me form found in the narthex.\u00a0 Bring it with you to the event or give it to Mary Parks in the church office.\u00a0 Be sure to take a copy of the guidelines to help you understand how the program works.\u00a0<\/p>\n

THRIVENT FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY<\/strong>\u00a0 On Sunday, Nov. 21, 5:00-6:30 pm, Thrivent is sponsoring a Chili Feed to benefit Habitat for Humanity.\u00a0 The event will be at Peace Lutheran Church, Joplin.\u00a0 A free will offering will be taken.<\/p>\n

THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE<\/strong>\u00a0 On Wednesday evening, Nov. 24, 7:00, who will have the opportunity to worship and give thanks in a special Thanksgiving Service with Holy Communion.\u00a0 Please make plans to set aside this time to join fellow worshipers in saying, \u201cthank you, Lord\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

THANKSGIVING DAY MEAL<\/strong>\u00a0 Not going out of town for Thanksgiving?\u00a0 Join us for dinner (12:00 noon) Thanksgiving Day in the fellowship hall.\u00a0 Bring a side dish or two, a thankful heart and a hardy appetite.\u00a0 Please feel free to bring along anyone who you know will be spending the day alone.<\/p>\n

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY EVENT<\/strong>\u00a0 Ladies, mark your calendars.\u00a0 The LWML<\/a> is sponsoring a Christmas Holiday centered evening for all the ladies of the congregation, Sunday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 pm. \u00a0What\u2019s happening?\u00a0 Just a Secret Sister Reveal, a Christmas Ornament Exchange, a Cookie Exchange, a good meal and loads of fun, that\u2019s all.\u00a0 You don\u2019t want to miss it!\u00a0 Hostesses for the evening are Janet Chambers and Mary Parks.<\/p>\n

PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.\u00a0 We have reports that they are helping those who have received them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

TAPES AND CD\u2019S OF THE SERVICE<\/strong>\u00a0 Audio tapes and CDs of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.\u00a0The previous Sunday\u2019s are also available.<\/p>\n

BLOOD PRESSURE<\/strong>\u00a0 The opportunity to have your blood pressure taken and recorded after each service is available in the nurse\u2019s office located off the narthex.\u00a0 You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.<\/p>\n

ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you control the volume.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
