FLU SHOTS<\/strong> You can get your flu shot here at GSLC this morning.\u00a0 Teri K., with McCune Brooks Hospital, will be offering the vaccine for $18.00; there is no charge if you are on Medicare.\u00a0 Everyone will need to show identification and those on Medicare will need to have their card.\u00a0 Teri will be available in the nurse\u2019s office to administer the shots during the Sunday School hour and after the late service.<\/p>\n

CONGRATULATIONS<\/strong> to Roberta H. and Clay C. who were unitied in marriage here yesterday evening.\u00a0 We rejoice with them and pray for God\u2019s blessings as they begin their new life as husband and wife.<\/p>\n

THE CHURCH COUNCIL<\/strong> will meet this evening at 7:00.\u00a0 The 2011 budget and the agenda for the Voters\u2019 meeting on Oct. 24 will be discussed.\u00a0 All members of the church council are asked to attend.<\/p>\n

THE ELDERS<\/strong> will meet this Monday evening at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n

THE SHEPHERD\u2019S OWN<\/strong> will be a part of the Maple Leaf Gospel Sing this Wednesday evening at the Carthage Jr. High Auditorium, beginning at 7:00.\u00a0 Thank you, guys, for representing Good Shepherd.\u00a0 We are proud to call you \u201cour own\u201d.<\/p>\n

THE MAPLE LEAF PARADE<\/strong> begins Saturday morning at 9:00 am.\u00a0 If you attend the festivities, make sure to make \u201ca joyful noise\u201d when the Good Shepherd float passes you by.\u00a0 Thanks to all those who worked to make this possible.<\/p>\n

OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS<\/strong> will meet this Thursday at 6:00 pm.\u00a0 Bring some vittles to share and come join the fun.<\/p>\n

PASTOR AND GERRY ON VACATION<\/strong> Pastor and Gerry will be in Arizona on vacation from the 15th through the 28th.\u00a0 Pastor David Johns will be leading us in worship the next two Sundays while Pastor is away.\u00a0 We really appreciate him doing this for us.\u00a0 If you need pastoral care during this time, please call the church office, 358-1325, or David W.<\/p>\n

ALTAR FLOWERS<\/strong> There are several opportunities, (December is completely open) through the end of this year if you would like to place flowers at the altar in memory of someone, in thanksgiving, or to celebrate a special occasion.\u00a0 The chart is on the table in the narthex for your use.\u00a0 Please write your name, the reason for your placement, and your phone number.\u00a0 See the chart for the name and number of two florists who offer GSLC a discount.<\/p>\n

PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.<\/p>\n

TAPES AND CD\u2019S OF THE SERVICE<\/strong> Audio tapes and CDs of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.\u00a0 The previous Sunday\u2019s are also available.<\/p>\n
