MARTIN LUTHER SCHOOL <\/a>FUNDRAISER<\/strong> with car show, silent auction,\u00a0 D. J., carnival games for kids, and concessions, will be held Friday, August 27, beginning at 5 pm. at 2616 Connecticut, Joplin.\u00a0 Entry form for the car show is available in the GSLC office.<\/p>\n

DULCIMER DEMONSTRATION<\/strong>\u00a0 Dennis Norwood, Springfield, will be blessing us with a hammer and mountain dulcimer demonstration and workshop on August 31, at 1:30 pm. here at the church.\u00a0 Mr. Norwood plays both instruments beautifully to the glory of God.\u00a0 Please come to listen or to join in the workshop.\u00a0 \u201cLet us make a joyful noise unto the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n

CHURCH FLOAT MEETING<\/strong>\u00a0 There will be another church float meeting Sept. 1 at 5:30 pm.\u00a0 If you\u2019re interested in helping with the plans and making of the church float to pull in the Maple Leaf Parade, please attend.\u00a0 Also, if you would like to help with some of the expenses, there is a container in the narthex for your donation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

JR CONFIRMATION<\/strong>\u00a0 Confirmation instruction for children in the 7th and 8th grades will begin Wednesday, September 15, at 6:30 p.m.\u00a0 There will be a parent\u2019s meeting after both worship services, Sunday, September 12, to go over materials and class schedules.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

CHURCH WORK DAY<\/strong>\u00a0 September 11 is the day designated as a work day here at the church.\u00a0 There will be painting, cleaning, trimming, cutting, along with a few other things that will need to be done.\u00a0 Both the gents and the ladies are needed.\u00a0 Work will begin at 8:30 am.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out (notebook in narthex) and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.\u00a0<\/p>\n

TAPES AND CD\u2019S OF THE SERVICE<\/strong>\u00a0 Audio tapes and CDs of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.\u00a0 The previous Sunday\u2019s are also available.<\/p>\n

BLOOD PRESSURE<\/strong>\u00a0 The opportunity to have your blood pressure taken and recorded after each service is available in the nurse\u2019s office located off the narthex.\u00a0 You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.<\/p>\n

ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you control the volume.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
