surgery;\u00a0 Jeanann G., Ann L., &amp; Chuck P., undergoing treatment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VBS PRE-REGISTRATION\u2014SETTING SAIL FOR THE HIGH SEAS<\/strong>\u00a0 There are registration sheets on the VBS table to pre-register your child\/children.\u00a0 You can also pre-register next Sunday evening in the Fellowship Hall from 6:30-8:30 pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS NEEDED<\/strong>\u00a0 Volunteers are needed to help with VBS.\u00a0 We are still in need of donated items for the meals, etc.\u00a0 See the sign up sheets in the narthex.\u00a0 There is also a container if you would like to give a monetary donation to help defray the cost of supplies and the t-shirts.\u00a0 Any questions?\u00a0 Please contact Nicole B.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Lutheran Women's Missionary League\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lwml.org\" target=\"_blank\">LWML<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 The Lutheran Women\u2019s Missionary League will meet this Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.\u00a0 Gerry S. will have the topic and Diana E. will be the hostess.\u00a0 All ladies of the congregation are welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Lutheran Church Missouri Synod\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lcms.org\" target=\"_blank\">LCMS<\/a> NATIONAL CONVENTION<\/strong>\u00a0 Michael G. is the lay delegate from our circuit and will be attending the LCMS National Convention in Houston, TX, July 10-17.\u00a0 The convention will be several days longer this year for time to debate the proposed changes to the structure of the Synod.\u00a0 Regular business includes the election of all the Synodical officers.\u00a0 There are a lot of important issues to be decided, so please keep Michael and the Convention in your prayers these next two weeks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL OFFERINGS<\/strong>\u00a0 There is a special National Offering to help support the work of the church in the world.\u00a0 If you want to help, you can use the special envelope provided this morning in the insert or we are having a door offering to be sent with Michael to be given at the Convention.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS<\/strong> will get together for fellowship and games Thursday evening at 6:00.\u00a0 Bring your favorite snack and join the fun!<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE CHURCH COUNCIL<\/strong> will meet next Sunday evening at 7:00 pm.\u00a0 All officers of the church are asked to attend this meeting to plan the agenda for the Voters\u2019 meeting on July 25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED<\/strong>\u00a0 We are in need of volunteers to help in the nursery during the late service while Walli is in New Jersey taking care of her dad.\u00a0 Please pick a Sunday and write your name on the sign up sheet in the narthex.\u00a0 Thank you for your willingness to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE NATIONAL GATHERING<\/strong>\u00a0 The Youth Group leaves for the National Gathering on July 16. \u00a0Do you want to experience a part of their trip?\u00a0 You can!\u00a0 The Mass Events and worship services will be streamed live during the Gathering.\u00a0 You will be able to find the live stream on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lcms.org\/\">www.lcms.org<\/a>.\u00a0 The Mass Events are on July 17-20 at 8:00 pm. nightly and on July 21 at 9:00 am.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECIPE FOR LIFE\u2014WOMEN\u2019S RETREAT, SEPT. 24-26<\/strong>\u00a0 Plans are underway for the women\u2019s retreat at Eureka Springs, AR.\u00a0 We need an early count of attendees in order to reserve rooms.\u00a0 This needs to be done as soon as possible.\u00a0 (It\u2019s a really busy time there that time of year.)\u00a0 The cost will be under $100.00, which includes a two night stay, full breakfasts, trolley tickets, plus your ticket to the Passion Play.\u00a0 We will need a $20.00 deposit from everyone wanting to attend to reserve the rooms.\u00a0 The sign up sheet is in the narthex.\u00a0 Any questions, please contact Lora S., Nicole B., Mary P. or Melody S.\u00a0 More information on the full itinerary will be shared later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PASTOR\u2019S CLASS<\/strong>\u00a0 Pastor is planning to have an information class for anyone who is interested in joining Good Shepherd, just wants to know more about the Lutheran church, or would like to refresh your own understanding of things Lutheran, on Sunday afternoon, July 18.\u00a0 The class will start at 1:00 and go all afternoon.\u00a0 If you are interested in attending, please let Pastor know.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>PERIODICALS<\/strong>\u00a0 The Portals of Prayer and the Lutheran Women\u2019s Quarterly are on the table in the narthex.\u00a0 Please feel free to take a copy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAYER BEARS<\/strong> are in the sanctuary pews and available to be signed out and given to anyone that needs God\u2019s love, comfort, and peace.\u00a0 Each bear is numbered on the back of the tag.\u00a0 That is the number to record in the notebook in the narthex, along with your name, the name of the recipient, and reason.\u00a0 The recipient may keep the bear as long as needed, or it may be returned to GSLC to be given to someone else needing extra love from God and extra prayers from us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TAPES &amp; CDS OF THE SERVICE<\/strong>\u00a0 Audio tapes and CDs of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.\u00a0 The previous Sunday\u2019s are also available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BLOOD PRESSURE<\/strong>\u00a0 The opportunity to have your blood pressure taken and recorded after each service is available in the nurse\u2019s office located off the narthex.\u00a0 You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive
