REMEMBER IN PRAYER<\/strong>\u00a0 Tim B., having back surgery on Monday;\u00a0 Jeanann G., Ann L., & Chuck P., undergoing treatment; Vernetta B., David C., Melba D., and June R., in extended care facilities.<\/p>\n

GSLC BAND<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Next Sunday, the GSLC Band will be providing special musical praise for both services.\u00a0 We appreciate the talents of each of the band members, and thank Karen M., band director, for molding these talents together.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SOFTBALL<\/strong>\u00a0 The co-ed team will play Monday evening at 7:30.\u00a0 The men\u2019s team will play Tuesday evening at 6:30.\u00a0 Come and help cheer on the home teams!\u00a0 GO TEAMS!<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE OVER-50 GOOD SHEPHERDS<\/strong> will get together this Thursday evening at 6:00.\u00a0 Bring a snack, your ready-for-action- spirit, and join us for a fun evening of games and fellowship.\u00a0 Fun, Food, Fellowship ~ doesn\u2019t get any better than that!<\/p>\n

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE<\/strong>\u00a0 On Sunday May 23rd, The Rev. Dr. Stuart Brassie, from the MO-District Office of the LCMS, will lead us in a planning session beginning at 1:30 pm. Dr. Brassie will help us focus on what direction we want to go, now that the expansion program is almost over, and how we will do it.\u00a0 The planning session is open to everyone, and together, with our Lord\u2019s guidance, we can look to a future that is focused and God-directed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

GOLF LEAGUE UPDATE\/CHANGES<\/strong>\u00a0 The night for the golf league to play has been changed to Monday evenings.\u00a0 It will still be at Briarbrook Golf Course, Carl Junction, at 5:30 pm.\u00a0 Please let us know if you would like to play by using the sign up sheet in the narthex.\u00a0 Team scores will be figured by handicaps, which will be figured after several weeks of play.\u00a0 (This will not be a scramble league.)\u00a0 Any questions contact Mary at the church office.\u00a0 The league will probably begin on June 7th.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ALTAR FLOWERS<\/strong>\u00a0 If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion, in loving memory of someone, or in thankfulness, please write your name, phone number, and the occasion on the flower chart in the narthex.\u00a0 If you order or purchase your flowers from 4-All Seasons Florist, 358-5828, or Third Day Creations, 237-0939, they will deliver here to the church and you will also receive a 10 % discount.\u00a0 Any questions, contact Betty K.<\/p>\n

KID KITS<\/strong>\u00a0 In the narthex are a number of bags containing crayons, coloring books, picture books and other items of interest for young children.\u00a0 You are welcome to use them for your little ones.\u00a0 Please return the \u201ckid kit\u201d after the service.<\/p>\n

BLOOD PRESSURE<\/strong>\u00a0 The opportunity to have your blood pressure taken and recorded after each service is available in the nurse\u2019s office located off the narthex.\u00a0 You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.<\/p>\n

TAPES & CDS OF THE SERVICE<\/strong>\u00a0 Audio tapes and CDs of the service are available after the 8:15 a.m. service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.\u00a0 The previous Sunday\u2019s are also available.<\/p>\n

ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you control the volume.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
