DESSERT & SERVANT AUCTION REPORT<\/strong>\u00a0 The Youth Group thanks everyone who participated in the Dessert and Servant auction last Sunday evening.\u00a0 It was a wonderful evening!\u00a0 A total of\u00a0 $1700.00 was raised, and along with the $1000.00 matched donation, they now have enough to finance their trip.\u00a0 The national youth gathering is July 17-21 at New Orleans.\u00a0 THANK YOU!<\/strong><\/p>\n

SOFTBALL<\/strong>\u00a0 The co-ed team will play Monday evening at 7:30.\u00a0 The men\u2019s team will play Tuesday evening at 8:30.\u00a0 Come and help cheer on the home teams!\u00a0 GO TEAMS!<\/p>\n

LWML NEWS<\/strong>\u00a0 The Southwest Zone will hold their 40th LWML Spring Rally today at Grace Lutheran Church in Lamar.\u00a0 Registration will begin at 2:30 pm, with the rally starting at 3:00 pm.\u00a0 The Rev. Brad Zerkel, a former member of our congregation, will be the guest speaker.\u00a0 Everyone is asked to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to Our Redeemer Food Pantry and Good Samaritan in Lamar.\u00a0 All ladies of our congregation are welcome.\u00a0 We will meet at the church at 1:45 pm to car pool.<\/p>\n

LWML<\/strong> will meet Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.\u00a0 Lora Samuelson will have the topic, and hostesses are Gerry Schnackenberg and Jan Garoutte.\u00a0 All ladies of the congregation are invited.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LWML MISSOURI DISTRICT 21ST BIENNIAL CONVENTION<\/strong>, “Beautiful Feet, Led by God”, will be held June 11-13th at University Plaza Hotel in Springfield.\u00a0 The registration cost is $50.00, if postmarked on or before May 8th; meals, tours, etc. are available for additional fees.\u00a0 Registration forms can be found on the table in the narthex.\u00a0 If you plan to attend, please contact Corinne W.<\/p>\n

\u201cFOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Thursday is the National Day of Prayer and we have several opportunities here at the church for you to join your prayers with many others throughout our country.\u00a0 The church sanctuary will be open all day for private prayer.\u00a0 You can come at any time.\u00a0 The Thursday morning Bible class, which starts at 9:30, will use part of it\u2019s time for prayer.\u00a0 You are welcome to join them.\u00a0 At 6:30 p.m. Pastor will lead a special prayer time in the sanctuary for our country, church and individuals and you are welcome to include your special prayer requests.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ALTAR FLOWERS<\/strong>\u00a0 If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion, in loving memory of someone, or in thankfulness, please write your name, phone number, and the occasion on the flower chart in the narthex.\u00a0 If you order or purchase your flowers from 4-All Seasons Florists, 358-5828, or Third Day Creations, 237-0939, they will deliver here to the church and you will also receive a 10 % discount.\u00a0 Any questions, contact Betty K.<\/p>\n

KID KITS<\/strong>\u00a0 In the narthex are a number of bags containing crayons, coloring books, picture books and other items of interest for young children.\u00a0 You are welcome to use them for your little ones.\u00a0 Please return the \u201ckid kit\u201d after the service.<\/p>\n

BLOOD PRESSURE<\/strong>\u00a0 The opportunity to have your blood pressure taken and recorded after each service is available in the nurse\u2019s office located off the narthex.\u00a0 You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.<\/p>\n

TAPES & CDS OF THE SERVICE<\/strong>\u00a0 Audio tapes and CDs of the service are available after the 8:15 a.m. service each Sunday.\u00a0 They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex.\u00a0 The previous Sunday\u2019s are also available.<\/p>\n

ASSISTIVE LISTENING<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers.\u00a0 They work like a transistor radio and you control the volume.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
