REMEMBER IN PRAYER: \u00a0Judy Hanna, recovering from surgery; Heather Danner Ulrich and Jeanann Grundy, undergoing treatment for cancer; \u00a0Marty Jones, with cancer; \u00a0Ann Luce and Chuck Perkins, undergoing treatment; \u00a0Bill Stremke, serving in the military in Afghanistan.<\/div>\n
BLANKET\/QUILT DRIVE \u00a0Now is a good time to clean out your closets and find a good use for those blankets, quilts, comforters, etc., that no longer see much use. \u00a0We need them for padding to protect the new pews during loading and transit. \u00a0We will need at least 100. \u00a0If you would rather make a loan to us, be sure to label your items with duct tape. \u00a0All donated blankets, etc. will be re-donated to the Carthage Crisis Center to give to those in need.<\/div>\n
2010 OFFERING ENVELOPES \u00a0The 2010 offering envelopes are ready to be picked up. \u00a0If you do not see your name and want envelopes, please contact the church office. \u00a0Likewise, if you prefer not to use them and see your name, simply write NO on the label. \u00a0Please remember to discard your 2009 envelopes and use only the 2010 envelopes beginning today.<\/div>\n
LWML \u00a0The first meeting of 2010 will be this Wednesday evening at 6:30. \u00a0This will be a planning and scheduling meeting, so we need everyone\u2019s input. \u00a0All ladies of the congregation are invited.<\/div>\n
NEW BIBLE STUDY \u00a0In this time in our world\u2019s history, it is vitally important to know God\u2019s truth. \u00a0There is a new Bible study starting called The Truth Project. \u00a0This is a dynamic look at what the Bible tells us (which is the truth) compared to the world\u2019s view (which is often a lie). \u00a0It is a twelve week program which will include a DVD lesson and discussion. \u00a0There is no cost. \u00a0The program was developed by Focus on the Family and you can find information, DVD clips and more on the website: thetruthproject.org. \u00a0This study is open to anyone. \u00a0Invite friends and co-workers to join us. \u00a0We will meet each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 12th in the Fellowship Hall. \u00a0A sign up sheet is located in the narthex. \u00a0You may contact Lora Samuelson, 793-0556, for more information.<\/div>\n

FLOWER CHART, 2010 \u00a0If you would like to place flowers at the altar for a special occasion or in memory of someone, please sign the flower chart found on the wall in the hall between the restrooms. \u00a0Simply write your name, phone number, and occasion with the pen provided.<\/div>\n
THE SHEPHERD\u2019S STRINGS DULCIMER GROUP will meet the 3rd Thursday of each month beginning in January. \u00a0Come join the fun!<\/div>\n
BLOOD PRESSURE \u00a0The opportunity to have your blood pressure taken and recorded after each service is available in the nurse\u2019s office located off the narthex. \u00a0You will be given a card to carry with you to record your readings.<\/div>\n
TAPES OF THE SERVICE \u00a0Audio tapes of the service are available after the 8:15 am service each Sunday. \u00a0They are located in the glassed-door cabinet in the narthex. \u00a0Tapes of the previous Sunday are also available.<\/div>\n
ASSISTIVE LISTENING \u00a0If you are having a hard time hearing the service, assistive listening devices are available from the ushers. \u00a0They work like a transistor radio and you can control the volume.<\/div>\n
THE LUTHERAN WITNESS \u00a0If you would like to subscribe to, or renew a subscription to, The Lutheran Witness, please use the sign-up sheet at the Information Center in the narthex. \u00a0The annual cost is $15.00. \u00a0Please designate \u00a0\u201cLutheran Witness\u201d if placing your payment in the offering plate. \u00a0The 2010 subscription year begins in April.<\/div>\n
