\u2020\u00a0VBS KICK-OFF PARTY\u00a0 <\/b>Thanks to Nicole B. and her family for organizing and cooking for a wonderful and well attended VBS kick-off party last Sunday evening!<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0CAVE QUEST VBS BEGINS TONIGHT\u00a0 <\/b>Vacation Bible School starts this evening, from 6:00\u2013 8:00 pm, with a light dinner at 5:30 pm.\u00a0 The offerings from VBS this year will go to the Ronald McDonald House in Joplin.\u00a0 There is a list of items needed on the round table in the narthex.\u00a0 This year, there will be a study offered for the adults that will coincide with what the children are learning each evening.\u00a0 <\/b>Please come and join us in learning about following JESUS, the light of the world.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0LCMS NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING<\/b>\u00a0 Eight youth members and two adult leaders of our congregation returned from the LCMS National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this past week.\u00a0 They would like to say thank you to GSLC for all the support in helping with their fundraising and in praying for them while they were enjoying this amazing experience together.\u00a0 The group would like to share with the congregation a little of what occurred during this week long trip.\u00a0 They will give a presentation next Sunday, July 31, during the Adult Bible Class.\u00a0 Please come join them next Sunday to hear them tell about their experience!<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0STEPHEN MINISTRY\u00a0 <\/b>As Earl has\u00a0reported in\u00a0the July\u00a0newsletter, Good Shepherd\u00a0will be hosting our second Stephen Ministry class this fall.\u00a0 This is open to all GSLC members and any other people that might be interested in this caregiving ministry.\u00a0 After the service on July\u00a031 and August\u00a014,\u00a0\u00a0 several Stephen Minsters\u00a0will be available\u00a0in the conference room to\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 provide additional information and to answer questions about becoming a Stephen Minister.\u00a0 We encourage anyone interested in this ministry to stop in and learn more about this distinctively Christian caregiving ministry.<\/p>\n
\u2020\u00a0SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING<\/b> $1000 GOAL REACHED <\/b>\u00a0For the first couple of quarters in 2016, both the adult and the children\u2019s Sunday School offerings were being collected to help Children\u2019s Haven in Joplin.\u00a0 If you are monitoring our progress by watching our bulletin board downstairs you will notice that we reached our $1000 goal.\u00a0 All 10 gingerbread kids are up! Thanks so much for your support of this project!<\/p>\n
